AT&T prepaid carrier Cricket is raising their data allotment on all plans.

Existing customers on the GSM network don't have to do a thing. Cricket will simply upgrade them automatically during their next bill cycle.

Cricket's $40 Basic Plan is doubling from 500MB to 1GB. The $50 Smart Plan is getting an extra 500MB as well, going from 2.5GB to a round 3GB. But if you're on the $60 Pro Plan, you're doubling from 5GB to 10GB. With all of these plans you can save $5 each month by signing up for automatic payments.

Existing and new users will be grandfathered when promotion ends. Promo starts Sept 13th.

Unlimited 2g as far as I know - so LTE speed till your data limit and 2g if you use it up.

Bearing in mind that Cricket seriously throttles their LTE speeds.

Yes, hopefully they will increase the LTE speed cap (8mbps) in the near future. The change is a good move. The surprising change was the increase in the $60 plan from 5 to 10GB.

Bear in mind there is an activation fee and you have to buy the SIM card.
LTE throttled to 8mbit and HSPA to 4mbit.
All data runs through their proxy so pings are very high.

I ordered the phone, sim, 50 plan online and there was no activation charge and free shipping.

I only have Moto G so 4 Mbps speed, but it seems to work really well, and I do not experience the lags I used to with ST that drove me crazy.

Yes. The diffeence between the two is there are speed caps on Cricket and I also believe you can tether on GoPhone.

im pretty sure cricket is a VOIP style mvno... meaning essentially the only thing they give you is data... and when you make a call it runs through their own voip servers.

it actually works well, until you run into compatibility problems. mainly not being able to send MMS to certain people, or trying to call people on google voice...

I am on Cricket and Aio before it was Cricket. This is an ATT MVNO. I don't think it's VOIP based. I have no problems with MMS on Cricket or Google Voice. In fact I use Google Voice to keep my old cell phone number so I can jump between pre paid services and still keep my old number no matter where I jump to. The MMS problems I have is trying to send a MMS via the Google Voice app which is a problem with all carriers because the GV app doesn't send MMS but it will receive MMS.

I love Cricket much more than Sprint and will love the data increase even more!

For those switching the sim card is $10 and you can save that $10 by getting a referral BEFORE you sign up. You and the referree will both get $25 dollars after 2 months of service. I think you need the referral BEFORE cause they timestamp you Referral Link.
