Riteaid Couponing 101
Sign up for a Wellness Card with a phone number – present card / enter phone number for all transactions.
Regular Non-prescription purchases give you Points.
500+ points = Silver Level = 10% discount OR Sale price whichever is better.
1000+ points = Gold = 20% discount OR Sale price whichever is better.
Riteaid fake money is called Ups. They are, by default, Load2Card (loaded to the account) – but Cashier at register, the 800 number or Online Chat can set it to "Print" at the bottom of the receipt.
Register card online. For two things
- VV = Video Value (VV) coupons. Watch 30 second (varies from 15 sec – 7+ minutes) videos and system gives you a VV coupon – that can be used along with a Manufacturer Q (MQ). Coupon barcode starts with RC49.
- L2C Coupons – Load to card coupons (eCoupons) – somewhat workable but not a guaranteed eCoupon system. If you present the same paper MQ, the system removes the L2C.
FB RAQ = Facebook Riteaid Coupons (RAQs) – every Monday, RA coupons that can be used with a MQ on a given item. Coupon barcode starts with RC49.
MQ + 1 more Coupon
Rite aid allows 1 MQ and 1 RC49 (VV or FB RAQ) coupon on an item.
Ups get printed at the bottom of the receipt. Are valid the next day onwards – with a 14 days expiry. You need to cut them out for use for payment.
Up Deal Types
Buy N items, get $ Up = you must buy N items in one transaction. e.g. Buy 2 Get $5 Up.
Buy $$ amount, get $ Up = you can buy in multiple transactions and when your purchases cross the $$ amount, the Up will be printed on that receipt. e.g. Buy $20 Get $5 Up.
((Advanced RA 101: This $$ amount should be greater than 10))
Bottom of the receipt shows the amount spent.
(Unlike CVS, you MUST cross the $$ amount, a penny or two less will NOT print the Up.)
Paying with Ups.
Ups can be used for the entire payment but NOT the sales tax. There is no limit to how many (number) Ups can be used to pay for the transaction; just the amount (spent amount) less tax.
Register doesn't show Sales Tax amount separately.
RA registers show Total Due and Sales Tax – but NOT Total before Sales Tax (the amount you can use Ups for – you have to do this math.)
Limits: L1, L2, L3 etc
Deals have weekly limits. Bottom of the receipt shows what deals have already been done and the weekly limit reached.
Every month there are some "Monthly deals"; bottom of the receipt shows when the monthly deal limit is reached.
DD = Double Dip = When two deals overlap – and buying enough items will produce two different Ups.
BoGo: Riteaid allows BoGo + 1 cents-off Q – the cents-off Q will beep but the cashier enters it.
BoGo and BoGo50% are better than Gold price: If an item is advertised BoGo or BoGo50, you will not get 20% on the full price item. RA considers BoGo as a 50% discount and BoGo50 as a 25% discount – these are better than Gold level 20% discount; so you only get BoGo or BoGo50.
