This is a GREAT laptop for its price. I use it for college and there is hardly anything I don't like about this laptop. I built my desktop so I was just looking for a cheap laptop to bring to class and this is definitely a great chose. I got this refurbished for $350 on the clearance website but anything under $500 is a steal for this laptop.

***BE SURE TO BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY***

I've had 2, lightly used Lenovos fail now, immediately after factory warranty expired. Google 'lights up, but screen won't come on' and see how common the motherboard failures are after ONE year. The home models are nowhere near the quality of the business thinkpads...

Agree with home models' and business models' quality statement: I have U310 touch laptop with LCD cover and hinge cover peeling off. Got refurbished last year. Thinkpad I got years ago still works fine, like a tank.

Call me trendy, but I'm looking for a touchscreen at approx this size. This does look like a good deal for the specs.

nevermind, not going to buy a $500 laptop that fails in a year. I dont see how to add warantee and dont really want to have to add one so will wait for something cheaper if I am buying a disposable laptop that I only expect to last a year.

Many popular credit cards (Discover included for that 5% cashback) offer a free additional 1 year warranty which would cover your ass without having to spend any extra $$$

Yeah, a lifetime of one year is just hideous. I want to believe that's just bad luck. It seems like if that was standard for Lenovo, they'd have a hard time staying in business.

Seems like a great deal but if the reliability is really as bad as everyone says, it is probably not worth it.
