Thread Details

Sometimes I wish I had a list of coupons to carry with me to the store that was easy to glance at to see if there is a useful coupon. So I decided to make one and share. I placed the info in the wiki.

I got the coupon info from http://www.taylortownpreview.com then re-arranged the data.

Tips for Printing

1. Paste the list in MS Word
2. Change the margins to 0 (File > Page Setup)
3. Change the font to size 8 or 5
4. Change the color of the list to that color you always have left over when you color cartridge runs out rather than printing in black. When my color cartridge runs out I still have the color red left, so I use red to print list, etc.
5. Change your printer settings to print multiple pages on one sheet, if you have that option. I have an HP All in One. I can print up to 9 pages per sheet. (Print > Preferences > Features) Omit tip #3 if you're going to do this.

NEWSPAPER COUPON POSTING GUILDLINES
The purpose of these guidelines is to establish consistency and make
coupons easiler to work with when adding to the Taylortown Preview coupons.

Please use the following format to post a coupon:

1. Make sure the same coupon, even with the a different value, is not already listed in the wiki.

2. (a) List qualifying items including size/count restrictions. Use Title Case (capitalize each word except words "any", "or", or "oz"):

2. (b) Type "AND" in full caps when two or more products must be purchased:

Colgate, any $1 off of 2 (word)
Colgate, any $1 on 2 (word)

Colgate Toothpaste, any 4 oz+ (numerical)
Colgate Toothpaste, any 4 oz or larger (word)

(6/14/09) - numerical
exp 6/14/09 - word
x6/14/09 - character

4. Express the coupon source with either SS, V, P & G. Any other source, spell out the full name:

General Mills Cereal, any $1.00/2 GENERAL MILLS (6/14/09)

5. Express the coupon region with postal abreviation of the state above the coupon:

Best thing to do is just flip through your inserts and check to see if it's expired completely. Coupons in inserts are regional, so for example my 5/30/12 RP insert could be expired, but yours may have a few coupons that I didn't get--and have NOT yet expired.

I organize my inserts from oldest to newest so each month I simply leaf through the older inserts to see if it's expired and if so I toss it. If there's a few coupons that haven't expired, I'll set them aside and toss the rest.
When I first get an insert, I write on the front the date of the last coupon expiration date.
Easier to flip through months later.

Good idea! I'm going to start doing that on my inserts now. ThanksSmilie

Rose - that's what I do with my inserts too. Low-tech, highly effective and best of all, personalized for each person's region! That's the only drawback of relying just on one list, which can be very regionalized. Fortunately we have people like you in the coupon previews who let us know what you have.

So on that note, the inserts have been updated through Sunday, 10/14 All expired Qs have deleted through 10/14.

Thanks to Taylortown previews! Also checked against the coupon previews provided by Jasper (via Amit19) and added in some additional reported from Lakebreeze & Rose247. (Please thank them here...I owe some reps there) I did find one in my paper, and that is the Nature Made $2/1 Q that came in SS this week. If anyone finds any additional, please feel free to add that information either to the first wiki (with the rest of the info), or if that is too daunting, feel free to add to the currently mostly blank second wiki, and I'll include it next time I do this.

Have a good time shopping this week!

ETA: Thxlic was the originator of the Coupon Inserts Maintenance: List of Each Coupon Insert's Oldest Expiration Date thread. I've put in a one-time update in the wiki based on 10/14 info from here. It's too much for me to handle maintaining that thread, so maybe some other nice SD'er would like to take it on. Anyway, hopefully this will help pinpoint the inserts that >might< be fully expired, and if you're new here, you can start using the method that Rose outlined above. Can't stress to much that insert Qs are very regional, so be sure to check through your inserts before throwing them out.

Hi all!
I haven't added in any of the new 11/4 inserts yet since it looks like Taylortown hasn't updated yet(hopefully no issues with Hurricane Sandy).

For the time being, I've just deleted out any Qs that have expired through Sunday, 11/4. In the meantime, please be sure to refer to the 11/4 previews here if you want to know what came out this week. They've been doing such a great job!

OK, the 11/4 inserts are in the wiki and all the expirations have been deleted through today, 11/5

This week's inserts are based upon Jasper's write-up which was graciously provided by Amit (He's a champ!). Additional regional variations are provided by Rose & Lakebreeze! Please be sure to say thx to them all in this thread

Taylortown is back up, so I've included some additional Qs from 11/4. The inserts have been updated through 11/11, thanks very much to the contributions of Taylortown previews, and our preview peeps here. All expired Qs have been deleted through 11/11 as well.

Feel free to report any regional variations in the wiki (or the second wiki if you are scared of modifying the first). I can include them in the next round.

OK...one week left to recover from this cold. Black Friday is coming!

I put the latest SmartSource en Espanol 11/9/12 - 11/15/12 in wiki2. wave

For any newbies/lurkers out there ---- SmartSource en Espanol is a separate insert that is issued every 4 -6 months by SmartSource, it is not just any regular SmartSource insert you find in a Spanish language paper. The regular SmartSource inserts always have a Sunday date on the spine, SmartSource en Espanol (actual title) has a range of dates printed on the spine xx/xx/xx - xx/xx/xx. MQs in SmartSource en Espanol typically are completely in spanish except for the retailer remittance info --- I have translated the MQs.

Although SmartSource en Espanol is usually smaller than a big city insert, the MQs are sometimes better -- higher value, less restrictions etc. than the regular inserts. If you look on eBay, SmartSource en Espanol is many times the source of some of the rarer hot MQs...

example the Kleenex & the Knorr (any except for minicubes) MQs make for very cheap items ... Knorr big cubes run 0.89 -0.99 for chicken boullion & Kleenex goes on sale for 0.99 -$1

Thanks Rose! Great addition! I haven't seen the "en Espanol" around here...but will have to keep looking. Surprising since NorCal is also full of Spanish speakers. I will be sure to incorporate into the main section on the next go-around.

I saw that Knorr coupon on a clippers site, and was interested, but wasn't sure what it was for. It wasn't in Spanish, that I could tell from the photo, but really couldn't read anything. Can you tell me if it is for any Knorr product or what its for? IIRC, it was a .40 value.
thanx much

Rose247, thanks so much for adding in your regional variations from 11/11 in wiki #2. I've added those Qs to wiki #1 when I did this week's updates. So easy to add to the wiki when they are in same format.

So, wiki has been updated with unexpired Qs through 11/18/12. Thanks as always to Taylortown previews and Amit for bringing over Jasper's preview (thx to both of you!) Feel free to say thanks to Amit (here) and Rose in the post above this one. Smilie

I've deleted out anything that has expired through today, Monday, 11/19/12. Hope you all have a wonderful turkey day, and even more importantly, an excellent BLACK FRIDAY!
