Thread Details

Sometimes I wish I had a list of coupons to carry with me to the store that was easy to glance at to see if there is a useful coupon. So I decided to make one and share. I placed the info in the wiki.

I got the coupon info from http://www.taylortownpreview.com then re-arranged the data.

Tips for Printing

1. Paste the list in MS Word
2. Change the margins to 0 (File > Page Setup)
3. Change the font to size 8 or 5
4. Change the color of the list to that color you always have left over when you color cartridge runs out rather than printing in black. When my color cartridge runs out I still have the color red left, so I use red to print list, etc.
5. Change your printer settings to print multiple pages on one sheet, if you have that option. I have an HP All in One. I can print up to 9 pages per sheet. (Print > Preferences > Features) Omit tip #3 if you're going to do this.

Please use the following format to post a coupon:

1. Make sure the same coupon, even with the a different value, is not already listed in the wiki.

2. (a) List qualifying items including size/count restrictions. Use Title Case (capitalize each word except words "any", "or", or "oz"):

2. (b) Type "AND" in full caps when two or more products must be purchased:

Colgate, any $1 off of 2 (word)
Colgate, any $1 on 2 (word)

Colgate Toothpaste, any 4 oz+ (numerical)
Colgate Toothpaste, any 4 oz or larger (word)

(6/14/09) - numerical
exp 6/14/09 - word

4. Express the coupon source with either SS, V, P & G. Any other source, spell out the full name:

General Mills Cereal, any $1.00/2 GENERAL MILLS (6/14/09)

Suggestions, please!
Last week, in hopes of getting back into the habit of keeping a Q list, I downloaded the spreadsheet into my Excel 2007. (Kudos to those that put this table together and maintain it!) I added my non-insert Qs (with exp and type). Although the little drop-down arrows confused me at first, I managed to figure out how to sort alphabetically by Q, then by exp date.
During past week, I've deleted some expired Qs, added a few I found, did the sort ... everything working beautifully ... until today.

I'm sure I'm just (not)doing something very "mickey mouse," but I can't get the ones I added today to sort into the old list. I originally listed them below the last (sorted) item in list. Then, somewhere in the "Z" group, I added some blank lines and c/p the new entries. ... Doesn't seem to make a difference. The new entries seem to be ignored during the sorting.
I copied the Qs and columns onto a new sheet, and finally got the new entries to sort into the older entries ... now I can't remember what I did that FINALLY worked to get them to sort properly. I was going to try it in the original sheet.
And, yes, I've looked online, but I can't seem to find the answer (or either my brain is mush). Any suggestions?

Hi jaws, glad that you're having fun with the excel spreadsheet. Tipper was the person who had the bright idea to add the wiki info to a downloadable spreadsheet.

Regarding your issue, sometimes I have problems if there are blank rows between the old info and the new additions. You can try to delete those blank rows and see if that works. If that's not the case, then I usually have some luck if I get rid of any column filters, then select all the cells that I want to sort (left click on mouse, hold down to select all cells, let go of left click once you've highlighted what you want to sort) then navigate to Data>Sort.

And if you're trying to sort by date, perhaps the new entries are in text and not in date format?

That's some ideas...usually I figure things out the way that you do...just keep fiddling with it until it works. Smilie

Yes, I originally had blank lines, but deleted them after didn't include in sort.
I thought I tried the other suggestions but, maybe I didn't. It became one of those "I've tried so many things, I have no idea what I didn't try!" situations. I WAS able to copy the cells and post them to a new page, which seems to work! I'll go back and try the original page tomorrow!
Thanks for your ideas!! Smilie

Time for an overdue wiki update! (Thx dodgeball, for clearing out the expired 3/31 Qs!

I've added the 3/30 SS (we had RP in only previously), as well as the regional variations reported in the 4/6 insert previews. Also added in the coupons that have been reported thus far from the 4/13 insert thread. Thank you to all the contributors!

All coupons that have expired through Tuesday, 4/8 have been deleted from the wiki.

Have a great week!

It usually takes 6-8 weeks for a subscription to begin. You can always contact them and verify that your subscription went through. If this was a deal that gave automatic renewal to them, watch out, because they will charge your credit card for the renewal several months before expiration.

there was a full page ad in my Sunday, 4-13, paper for Dare crackers. At the bottom was the following coupon:

Dare brand any variety: Breton, Cabaret, Bremner, Vinta or Vivant crackers $1/2, x 7-31-14

Thanks for the cracker info and your tireless hard work!

Well, it's past due for an update. I was thinking that there would be inserts this weekend (should've checked the inserts schedule), but we are getting a break this week. I'm sure that all of our tireless insert previewers are all enjoying a little rest.

Expired Qs through 4/18 have been deleted from the wiki and I will also update the spreadsheet link as well. Hope you all have a nice weekend. Happy Easter!

I know that inserts in different areas will have different coupons in them and that some areas will have different values for coupons for the same product. I have just encountered something I have not come across before. My King Soopers (Kroger) and Safeway still double 50¢ coupons. The coupon in question is this one:
Colgate .50/1 toothpaste 3.4oz+ (4/26/14) SS 4/13/14
I received this coupon in my local inserts and used them all up on 99¢ and $1.00 toothpastes at both grocery stores and they all doubled to make the items free + tax. I ordered more of the same coupon from a clipper (East coast) but these do not double at either store. Only go through for face value. Are similar coupons in different areas now coded to not double (like the ones that began with a 9) while in other markets they are coded to allow doubling?

Here in the East, our Colgate-Palmolive coupons always say "Do Not Double". And they are usually lower in value than coupons from other areas. (.35 or .50 when others are .75 or $1) Thats why we have to order from FLorida, etc., clippers. Those coupons will double.

I have had lots of coupons put out locally that say "Do Not Double" but do double automatically at the register. I guess your coupons must also be coded to not double.
Thanks for the Florida information, may have to change where I order from.
