FAQs:

How do I turn off all the non-free stuff?
Cancel Premier trial: You might as well opt-out at sign-up, but if not go to My Account > Services and click on link for Premier under "My Services." On details page, which lists the features of the Premier service, look a tiny deactivation link ("To deactivate the FreedomPop Premier service, click here") at the bottom. Pay attention to what they ask, like clicking on "cancel" means you are cancelling the cancellation process. Ignore bright colors and read carefully.
Downgrade data plan: Go to My Account > Plans. Under the "My Plan" section (currently Casual 2GB), click "Details and Plan Management". On details page, look a tiny downgrade link ("To downgrade your plan, click here") at the bottom. Pay attention to what they ask. You want to click on the tiny link "downgrade anyway" instead of the big green "cancel" button, and the grey "Downgrade Only" instead of the green "Keep Data". Ignore bright colors and read carefully.
Turn off Automatic Top-up: Go to Billing > Billing Settings. Click edit next to the "Automatic Top-up" section, uncheck the box, and save.
Other:Under My Account > Account Settings, there are some email settings that you probably want to adjust.

Is there a authorization charge?
Yes. There will be a temporary authorization charge of $29.98 applied to your credit card upon signing up. This authorization is cancelled immediately.

Once again, the checkout page for the deal will say $0.00, but there will be a $29.98 authorization. It is not a real charge. What am I getting again?A free Freedom Spot Photon, which is a hotspot with 4G WiMax access. It can provide internet access for up to 8 devices at once. You'll also get a one-month free trial of our 2GB data plan & a one-month free trial of our Premier service.

So is this the same as the Overdrive or Overdrive Pro?
No, it's a different device than the Overdrive & Overdrive Pro. The Photon is a 4G WiMAX Only hotspot that can connect up to 8 devices. The Photon cannot access the 3G network.

How about that Free Internet?
We offer a 100% Free data plan consisting of 500MB of 4G WiMAX data.

Is there a non usage, or inactivity fee of $0.99?
Nope, we stopped it altogether last year.

I already have a FreedomPop device; how do I get a refund to get this deal?
To be honest, this may not be in your best interest. We only accept returns for the first 30 days after purchase and we do not provide return shipping. If you still want to try to return your current device and possibly pay more to get this, then go ahead and message us.

I already have a FreedomPop device; how do I add this to my existing account?
At this time, we're not able to have multiple devices under one account. Each device must be under a unique email address, but this works out really great because you can connect the accounts through Freedom Friends to receive even more free data each month.

How do I get even more free data every month?
Add some Friends from this thread- http://slickdeals.net/f/5276432-freedompop-friends

Is this 4G LTE? 4G WiMAX? How about 3G?
This promotion is for a Free 4G WiMAX Only Photon Hotspot. It is not compatible with LTE or 3G. To check on coverage, visit www.freedompop.com/retail/coverage [freedompop.com].

Isn't WiMAX getting shutdown?
Sprint has announced that WiMax will be phased out at the end of 2015. When WiMax shuts down, this device will no longer work. But until that happens (for the next 14-ish months), you can take advantage of 100% Free Internet.

When will devices be shipped?
These FreedomPop Photon hotspots will be shipping in about 2-3 weeks. We don't have as much inventory as some of our past deals, so come and get it while it's hot! Your official data cycle/one-month free trial does not begin until the device ships.

Is this device new?
This is a Certified Pre-Owned Photon hotspot. While there has been some usage on the devices previously, they have been thoroughly inspected and repackaged by our logistics department and not a third party manufacturer. There have been physical damage checks, functionality checks, data wipe and factory reset, and radio frequency tests.

What's so great about the Premier service?
Premier is a bundle of our most popular value-added services. With Premier active on your account, you'll get Data Compression (and get up to 2x your data) and monthly Data Rollover, along with our staple services of Usage Alerts, Speed Plus, Security, and Premium Support. It's a $20 value if you signed up for the services separately.

Can I exceed my data limit, even if it's set to suspend itself?
With automatic top-up disabled (found in the Billing Settings of your account), your data service will suspend itself when you're within 100MB of your data limit. Please note that there is a 3-hour delay in data reporting from Sprint's towers to our system, so there is a slight chance that you can exceed your limit if there is significant usage within that 3-hour window. If you're only browsing the web/reading articles, then you should be fine. However, if you're doing high data usage activities during that window (such as Netflix or large downloads), then there's a chance you can go over, since our system won't recognize that you're at your limit in time to suspend you. Please be aware of your data usage as your approach your limit. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to PM us.

How do I downgrade my trial?
You can downgrade your trials directly through your FreedomPop account page. No need to call or email Support.

Have a Billing Issue?
We encourage all our users to come to us first to see if we can explain any charge or resolve any billing issue before further escalation.

Customer Support:
Email is probably the best way to reach us (support@freedompop.com) or just private message us. If you absolutely must speak to us, you can call (888) 743-8107 (M-F 9am-5pm PDT) or send us a Private Message.

Good luck with that. I placed an order for one of these back when they had it in August and still haven't received it. Early this month I got an email stating FP had to order more from the supplier to fulfill the existing orders so not sure why they'd open up a new offer when they haven't bothered to fulfill the first set of orders from August. I might add that Freedompop is quick to slap that authorization on your card but evidently doesn't care how long it takes to ship.

I never received mine too, but got the HTC EVO one and the service seems to be fine on wifi as signal strength in my are is really low.

I've tried 3 different cards and all 3 failed to process, something is up with their order processing. That or they are data mining.
