*I just ordered service from TWC for $29.99/Month 15Mbps/1Mbps speed, 6month contract! Took two calls, about 30min. First was to a guy in Los Angeles, didn't offer better than $40/month. Called again and spoke with "Ken" from the Philippines and he was able to reduce it down to $34.99/Month after I asked if there were any promotions. Got the $15 Installation fee waived as well because I will be installing the modem myself (even if they charge you the $15, call or chat online to see if they will waive it). I then called Retention (or Customer Solutions) department for a promotion and said they had a program for $29.99 for Standard up to 15Mbps internet. The associate did not know about the promotion so I asked him to talk to his supervisor about it and that was where he dropped it another $5 to $29.99 for 6-months. I asked him if I could call back again around that 6-month period and he said I could, and that all I needed to do was ask if there were any promotions, but like I said, the lower level staff don't know of the deal so have them ask their supervisor.
NOTE - You may not get the best deal when you first sign up. Several Rep's told me that they would only be able to drop my price once I signed up and had a contract. So that is what I did, signed up for $34.99 then called back and got it dropped another $5.

- SPEED TEST: Happily surprised! I ran a test on Speakeasy [speakeasy.net] and the numbers have been consistent, 20+Mbps download/ 5+Mbps Upload.

I saw that there was a thread for AT&T Uverse where members were sharing their internet speeds and price for service, as well as what they said to the customer service representatives to get those prices. I figure that we should also have one for TWC so that we can further save people money Big Grin

Try to answer the following questions on the Wiki board below;
1. Where are you located? (City, State)
2. What are you paying and for what type of service? (e.g. $25/Month for 20Mbps/2Mbps)
3. What did you say or do in order to get that price?
4. What date was this, how long did it take you to get said price, and how many Rep's?

Shoot me a Thumbs-Up so others don't miss it!

Thanks!

- Aaron

A thread for TW Cable internet would probably help a good hoard of us here on SD. The AT&T thread was really helpful. So far, all I know is, TW is upgrading speeds for Los Angeles, and they're upgrading Antelope Valley (Lancaster/Palmdale) speeds. A couple of recommended modems to run TW - Motorola SB6141 and the SB6121. The 6141 model is for future proofing if TW goes pass standard speeds of 100MB or if you simply choose the highest rate at that speed already at premium prices.

The maximum speed AT&T offered me was 12Mbps, so I think you're right Alucard, TWC does seem to have the faster connection.

I'm 10/1 off promotion for like $45 in Columbus, OH. Finally got my own modem to save the $5.99/mo.

They said we were bumped to 15/1 but it hovers around 12.

Does Brighthouse count as TWC or are they truly different companies? It's hard to keep up with just how intertwined or not they are.

Currently paying $85/mo for 15/1.5 and includes telephone service. Does anyone have tips of what I can say to the Retention representatives when I give them a call?

I'm thinking I should just cancel my services and open a new account under a different name to get the pricing of a new customer. Downside, I wouldn't have any services during the transition
