10 year warranty? Sold.
Funny story. I would give my friend my used PC when I upgrade which is at least every 3 to 4 years. During my ownership, everything works fine. After I give it to him, things would start to go wrong. PSU died. One of the intake fans stopped working. PC would not boot. One of the DVI connector on the graphics card went bad. Etc. We would always have a good laugh over that. My excuse is always a simple "It was working before I gave the PC to you. The problem is on your end. Not because of me." I think he would be very happy if I buy this SSD with a 10 years warranty.

Not sure why 10 years is important since tech is constantly changing and improving. In 5 years we will have all moved on to something much better.

Sounds about like my friend. He kills computers (usually the motherboards) insanely fast. Just by using them as is, no overclocking or anything. Boy is outputting some bad mojo I guess.

I love a company that stands behind their product enough to give a TEN YEAR WARRANTY. Seriously. As more and more hard drive manufacturers shift to a piddly one year warranty, this is certainly a welcomed change of pace.

It's very important to me for a company to stand behind its product. They offer a 10 year warranty, which says to me, "hey we're confident this SSD is going to outlive the warranty."

I don't really care if it gets ten years because as you said we'll likely be using something much better by then. It's about standing behind their product.

Comparing a Samsung 850 to a PNY Optima. Really? worship

This is an awesome, a bit overpriced for now SSD with pretty high performance data. Yes, technology will change a lot in the coming years but long-lasting storage, however small, will be always valuable.
