Okay guys, this is not going to last very long. SVS just released their PC-2000 Cylinder sub that will be replacing the PC12-NSD and they have discounted the PC12-NSD to $499 till they clear out stock.

This subwoofer is HIGHLY recommended and used to retail for $749. The cylindrical form factor is also really nice with higher WAF (Wife acceptance factor) and allows for more flexibility in positioning the sub in your room. If you're in the market for a sub, and $500 is your max budget, don't even think about it, just buy it! You won't find a better sub for this price. The hassle free 45 day return policy (free return shipping) makes it easy to pull the trigger on this without worrying about being stuck with something you're not happy with.

Comes with a comprehensive 5 year warranty.

Capable of 18-130 Hz +/- 3 dB.

Update - Outlet versions with minor blemishes are available for $24 cheaper for $475.99 - http://www.svsound.com/specials/outlet-specials . Personally, I'd just spend the extra $24 for an unblemished one.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Finishing my basement & needed 2 subwoofers. Spoke to Ed at SVS who was extremely helpful. Was waiting to pull the trigger. Just ordered 2 for $949. Great deal!

I have VTF-3 MK3 in my basement HT. Thinking of craiging that one for $400+ and get this one. Will I see any improvement. I am not expecting any window shattering performance but prefer deep impact more than even performance.

I don't know if you'll get too big a difference. Are you using the VTF-3 in max extension mode or max output mode (i.e. with or without port plugging)?

If using in max output mode, then you would notice a reasonable difference as this sub goes down to 18Hz at -3dB while the VTF3-MK3 goes to 25Hz at -3dB if I recall correctly. Those lower frequencies are the ones that shake the room and your seat in movies.

UGH!!!! This has me seriously considering craiglisting my BIC F12 and picking up one of these. I had planned to purchase a new receiver next since I am still running one without HDMI, but this deal is almost too good to pass up. Damn you OP! haha.

I had also considered the PB-1000 [svsound.com] for the same price of $499.

Decisions, decisions.

Do it! I was in your situation. I had the Dayton Sub-1200 and then I ended up snagging the PB12-NSD for $499 (pretty much same as the PC12-NSD, just in a regular rectangular sub housing). There is a HUGE difference between subs like the Dayton and the Bic and subs like these ones that go below 20Hz. I can't express how much I love my new sub and how big an impact it has had on my overall HT experience.

Also, this sub is definitely a better option than the PB1000. It goes slightly deeper and has far more output capability and will result in more and cleaner output at regular levels.
