Walmart has the following DSLR kits on clearance for in-store pickup only. Enter your zip code on the product page to see if any local stores still have stock.

Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm Lens - $255 [walmart.com]

Not sure why but the link I posted for the T3 got pulled. Just search for it on Wal-Mart.com and scroll down. It might be grayed out but it's still there and works for in-store pickup.

There is also a D3100 kit bundled with a 55-200mm VR lens but I couldn't find it in stock within 50 miles of the 10 or so zip codes I punched in.

If online stock checks aren't working you may want to give the mobile site a shot.
Walmart Mobile [walmart.com]

At some of my local stores Canon T3i kits were $356.00 but did not appear online at that price. I picked up one of the Nikon D3100 with 55-200mm lens kits but had to do a stock check with sales person to find it. For some reason it was in a back stock room. My point is, Wal-Mart inventory online is often incorrect and even in-store inventory gets incorrectly placed, so if you really want to snag one of these cameras go to the store and ask.

I am starting a Photo Booth Wedding business and I've been looking everyday for a month for this deal but it looks like my local Walmart doesn't have this price. I'm looking to get 2 of these. Ugh!!!

they're both good entry level cameras. if your serious about getting into photography, the better question is which system do you want to buy into. Nikon lenses, flashes, etc vs. canon. if you start buying one or the other you will have to sell it all later if you want to switch which usually isn't practical.

if you just want a camera and want to know which is better, check out dpreview.com for reviews of both models.

Keep an eye out. This Canon Outlet deal might return.

Yes its a refurb for even more than this Wal-Mart deal, but the Canon refurbs come with a 1-year warranty and look brand new.

When I strolled up to the clearance table yesterday someone was checking these over. Was hoping they would leave them but after giving them both a look they snagged both. Lucky!

Also, how do you look up the product page for clearanced items like this? There was another camera I saw yesterday
