Former front page deal back again as a lightning deal on Amazon [amazon.com].

EDIT: As of 7:00 p.m. MT this offer is available only as a "prime early access" deal. Not sure when it will show up for all.

How does this compare to ATH-M40X or ATH-M50X?

What is the major difference between regular headphones and monitors? Sorry rookie here....I have a pair of Logitech UE600, bose OE, Senheiser HD 429, and Kicker and I enjoy the UE6000 the best (I guess). Do these monitor hp lack a lot of bass? Would this be a good hp for listening to music on my phone (pandora and etc.)

I used to have the Sony mdr v6. Now i have the ATH m50x, which has a bit more bass, Sony sounds more "crisp" . Depends on what you like.

I use for games. Sony is better for video games because i could hear every sound, gunfire more crisp. m50x gunfire sounds a bit muffled, but amazing for classical piano.

but both dang good.

the major different in monitors and regular headphones is that monitors have no boost in any frequency like bass, mids, and highs. Its more made for what the artist in the studio hear. So your can pick out the bits and pieces in the music you are listening to or recording.

it sounds more like the m40x because there is less bass than the m50x

How do these lightning deal work? If 100% claimed, the sale will end, even if there's still time left on the count down timer?

Yes! was just looking for these. Had my other pair for about 4 years and swapped earpads with velour earpads and love love love them!

Now I can have a pair at work and home.
