bad reviews, good price but can't find any info about how crackable it is -- https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtop...=45592&p=2

seems many are calling for it cause the hardware in the box is pretty impressive sounding (though reviews report fan failures and returns). If you could get WW-RT on this badboy it might resolve a lot of the "needing to constantly reboot" issues people describe. Hopefully there is firmware out there for it otherwise not worth it imo.

Promo Code EMCWPGP67
I'm seeing $79.99, minus $20 rebate. I assume this promo code takes another $20 off.
However, the rebate PDF states: "6. Not combinable with any other offer."

How picky is Newegg about these things?

The rebate won't be impacted by any Newegg promotional code you use with it.

The "not combinable with any other offer" verbiage is standard and it is referring to other rebate offers (although not stated explicitly).

I like being able to mount devices on a wall or other location, particularly a wireless router. But seems like this router housing design requires that it sit upright on a desk?

got one. For this price, I am willing to reboot it every now and then.

Does anyone know if this unit is DSL compatible?
it may not be as I don't see it but I'd just like to make sure.

Yes, but you still need a DSL modem to plug into it.

FYI, every modern router will work fine with a DSL modem.

You are correct it needs to sit on a flat surface, it's not designed to be mounted. I have owned this for model for about 6 months now and it has been flawless for me. I have never rebooted although I do turn it off sometimes when I leave town. The fan could be an issue for some as it is noticeable to me but only after the whole family has gone to bed and I turn off the TV and computer so it's not a bother to us at all.
