I went with the iPad Mini. No regrets thus far.

Very poor from the reviews. Hence why I went with the iPad Mini.

If android is a must, I'd recommend you look at the LG GPad 8.3 or the Nexus 7 for this price range.

They seriously need to improve the battery life on these tablets, wanted an ipad for the battery but I don't really like iOS even after jailbreaking 7.1.2

the wait continues

The Samsung got pretty good reviews too. Why would you recommend the LG Gpad 8.3 over the samsung galaxy tab pro 8.4? The samsung has a higher resolution screen and faster processor with similar battery life. They both are $250 at best buy.

I recently got the iPad mini w/ retina a few weeks ago but I still have the nexus 7 (2012). I've noticed the battery life is much better with the iPad and the keyboard seems better. I still prefer the chrome browser over safari and google now over Siri. Overall, I think I prefer android over iOS. I just wanted to give the iPad a try since I had a nexus 7 previously. I didn't think about the lg gpad or samsung pro 8.4 at the time though. I'm considering these tablets over the iPad now though. Has anyone tried all 3 before? Which one do they prefer?

The nexus 7 (2013) is probably the best deal but the 7" screen is a little small.

Honestly, I'd suggest you stop at a Best Buy and play around with some of the new features in iOS8.

This is my first iOS product and I'm fairly happy with the operating system in of itself. Everything else about the tablet is top notch, specially the build quality in comparison to Android devices in the same price-range.
