I'd probably jump on the $80 package if it was Preffered TV. Time Warner just upgraded to MAXX over here, they're offering 100 mbps in their packages now. Verizon needs to step it up, 50 and 75 mbps isn't enough.

Before you commit, ask them about other promos. When I switched over, I did better without the $400 card because if you divide $400 into 24 months you get $16.66 savings per month. The plan I chose was saving me $35 per month. Look at your options first because it's for two years

good point. currently paying $40/month (not a promo price) for 20mbps internet and unlimited local/long distance phone via Time Warner. I know I could pay more and get faster internet... but I really don't "need" it.

I was in the same boat as you mate. As a current customer I wasn't eligible for any specials but I called and asked and they agreed to give me Internet 50down50Up, my local channels and HBO for just 7 bucks more so I'm paying 70 for that. That deals is $50 for new customers but they agreed to give it to me as a current customer for $20 more. If I were you, I'd call and ask. You'd be getting basically HBO + your local channels for only $7 more.
