Sams Club is selling a similar formula in 50lb sacks for $8.68 which makes this a better deal... if you are a Sams member and it is in stock. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/mira...navAction=

Example Amazon.com Review...

No other ice melt product has ever damaged my driveway before. This stuff caused the top (skim) layer of my concrete driveway to peel off (spalling). DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT IT WILL DESTROY YOUR CONCRETE.

UPDATE: To repair the top (skim) layer of my concrete driveway, I used CR90 Concrete Resurfacer. It seems to be a bondo based product with sand and coloring to match the texture of concrete. It is now December 2014, 3 years after the patching, and 4 years total after using Roadrunner Icemelt, and the repair has been flawless; I did all of the work myself. A few notes, first pressure wash your driveway and chisel our the loose material everywhere, even if it makes your driveway look that much worse, trust me you want a solid bond to good concrete; mix a small amount because it hardens quickly; once applied, let dry 5 or so minutes, then use a wide trowel/putty knife (4 inches wide at least) to get a clean press and cut over the wider spalled (peeled/chipped) areas of concrete. Discard the rest of the material in that batch before it completely hardens in your bucket; then mix another small amount and continue. It is a grueling process, so budget many hours for the repair, and having a helper to mix and discard while you file and shape really helps; the material sets up fast. My entire repair cost $200. Compare that to a $15,000 job to tear out and replace my long driveway.

One 50 lb bag for $38 did it.

were these the chloride combo mixes? the regular salt normally goes for about $4 a 20# bag, but it doesnt really do anything in the real winters (like we had last year)
