if you are a pro or semi-pro, you will most likely build a custom paddle. if you are an amateur, you don't need a $70 paddle. so this is a good deal.

Thanks, OP!

Have been a big fan of Stiga paddles for a while, and the Carbon Pro has been too pricey for my wallet. In for 2 (office battle FTW!) and some 3 and 4-star balls.

Will I be "That guy" who bring his own paddle in the office?

No...I don't want to be "that guy" even though I really want to buy this...

All I can say is this level of conformity isn't for me. Just because others are too lazy or disinterested to get something that appeals to them and bring it with them means you have to cater to the lowest common denominator?

Absolutely. There are some threads around here concerning Amazon Price Matching, look around and get informed and then take a shot at them. Odds are good.

I recall shooting pool with some buddies at a local club. Along the wall was a glass case with various pool cues 4 sale. We were admiring the look of them and gawking at the price tag(s)
A pro came over to us and said "it's not the stick that makes the shot, it is the player"

Basically if you can roll the cue on the table and you have no wobble + you are a decent player, you can play a good game.

Same goes for table tennis- don't need an expensive paddle, just a good player.

I play at a local club at advance level and agree with Amesbury as well. Combining items I can buy easily from sites like zeropong etc. I usually can make a great paddle for a decent price. This paddle will be good for a teen who would like to improve their skills or game but only get to play at the local YMCA or at school, but have outgrown the standard "wooden" paddles that are available. People who think that spending a few hundred dollars on ping pong paddles is outrageous, have no issues spending more than that on a couple of golf clubs just to get that extra edge. They will not understand why an expensive paddle is superior to a run of a mill factory offering.
End of rant.
