Very exciting, the $100 credit for switching from tmobile or metropcs to Cricket is back.
And they added Sprint, Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile to the carrier switch list!

https://www.cricketwireless.com/c...martphones

http://cricketwireless.mediaroom....tem=122484

Also the HTC Desire 510 and Nokia Lumia 635 (both 4G LTE) will be Free After $75 Rebate !!!
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/...,8572,8208
Moto G is $25 after rebate (2013 model?)

Remember you can stack this with the $25 referral credit, just make sure to get the code before you register and wait 24 hours after full activation before entering the code

For me at least, Cricket has a really strong signal in my home and in stores, unlike tmobile, with the exact same phone. Of course that experience may vary.

Only downside is Cricket customer service is very bad, and slow. It is probably how they save money.

Also note that after December 7th, Cricket is increasing their unlock requirement from 4 months to 6 months which really sucks:

https://www.cricketwireless.com/l...dec-7.html

But you can get at least a few months of service with the credits.

Looks like they also expanded the number of carriers you can switch from

Quote :
Back by popular demand, Cricket Wireless is also now offering T-Mobile, Metro PCS, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Cincinnati Bell customers a $100 bill credit for making the switch to Cricket. There is no limit on the number of lines a customer can switch to Cricket, receiving a $100 bill credit for each line transferred. The $100 bill credit*** offer is available through December 31, 2014, at Cricket stores nationwide and online.

$100 Credit if direct port from Boost, Cincinnati Bell, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Virgin Mobile customers.

If you're on a different carrier from the above, port to T-Mobile prepaid using a $0.01 T-Mobile starter kit or a unused plain vanilla T-Mobile SIM card. No need to fund Tmobile prepaid account. Once T-Mobile port is complete (takes under 24 hours), port it to Cricket.

You only need to be a T-Mobile customer for more than 1 second to qualify for the $100 switcher credit, i..e there is no need to stay with T-Mobile once your port into T-Mobile is complete. Just port out to Cricket as soon as you join T-Mobile.

Direct link to $75 Rebate form: $75 Rebate Form [cricketwireless.com]

This is pretty cool if you go with the 3GB or 10GB Plans:
***** Cricket Rewards: Loyalty Program: Cricket Customers on Smart and Pro plans earn one (1) Reward Credit for each full, on-time payment. Reward Credits are only redeemable for a phone upgrade once customer has earned a Device Credit(s). Customers earn a $50 Device Credit for every twelve (12) Reward Credits earned. Reward Credits expire, if unused, sixty (60) months after Device Credit becomes redeemable. Reward Credits earned at the account level. Device Credits are capped at $150 without redemption and are not-transferrable and have no cash value. Restrictions Apply. Details https://www.cricketwireless.com/rewards

Step by step instructions -
Follow the below instructions; if you currently have phone with nano sim card with At&t service and want to transfer to Cricket (with the same number)-

1. Port the number from At&t to T-mobile via the Prepaid SIM card [amazon.com]. This will get you sim as well as service and cost you $12 instead of Best buy's just sim for $5. With amazon way you will have uninterrupted service after porting to T-mobile and before the porting to Cricket; as it takes 3-5 days to receive the Cricket phone and sim card.
2. Buy the Cricket $25 referral from Ebay for $1 or ask someone to send you a referral link. BTW the ebay $1 is refundable. Click on the referral link and put your name and email to unlock the referral.
3. Buy the Cricket $40 plan online with Moto G and port your current number. The activation fees will be waived by ordering online.
4. Fill the referral information in the email received from Cricket.
5. After 3-5 business days; Cricket SIM card and Moto G will be received. Activate the phone and confirm that the number has successfully been ported. Additional referral interaction is needed to complete the process.
6. Cut out the Micro SIM card to make it Nano SIM card and pop it in the Iphone. Instructionss [redmondpie.com]. This is a tricky part; Any suggestion to avoid this?
7. Go to your account and setup auto pay to get $5 credit every month. Make sure that you sign up at least 10 days prior to the next billing cycle.
8. Fill the Moto G rebate and send it to Cricket.
9. Unlock Moto G from Ebay and sell it once the rebate is processed.
10. The line switch credit $100 added to your account within a month.
11. The referral credit added to your account in 2-3 months.
12. Keep the Cricket line you ordered with the phone open for at least 3 months. If you cancel the Cricket line, your rebate becomes invalidated.

Just an fyi, looks like current Verizon customers are ineligible for this promotion:

"*** $100 Switcher Credit: Offer ends 12/31/14. $100 account credit is available only to T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Cincinnati Bell customers who transfer their number to Cricket. Must purchase and activate a new line of service on a Basic, Smart or Pro rate plan. Limit one $100 account credit per qualifying line of service. Account credit applied approx 5 days before end of first month's service period. Account must be active on a qualifying rate plan to receive credit; suspended or canceled accounts are not eligible to receive credit. Lines added to Group Save (multi-line) accounts 5 or fewer days before the end of a bill cycle will receive account credit during the following month of service. Credits have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash or any cash equivalent and are not transferable or refundable. Account credits are forfeited if your account is canceled. May not be combined with other offers."

Thanks. Do how do we make the most of this? Activate a couple Sims on T-Mobile and transfer?

Nice to see this promo back. I took advantage of it about 2 months ago & the $100 credits came through just as advertised. Their (outsourced) customer service reps ARE truly hideous though - rude, ignorant, and ill-trained; so if you need help, you need to go to a physical store or work it out by yourself.

BTW. Cricket isn't a mvno in the usual sense. It's now wholly owned by AT&T

Yep -- last time I got 1 cent TMo SIM kits when they were on sale and activated them without funding (don't fund anything on the last activation page) and then ported those lines to Cricket for the $100 switch credit

Will it work if you are on T Mobile prepaid? Is it postpaid only?

AT&T has Cricket, Verizon has PagePlus, Tmobile has MetroPC, LycaMobile and Sprint has Boost, Ting... why do they sub-branded and fight with themselves?

I'm almost thinking of getting the Moto G for $25 after rebate.

It is the 2013 model but still high end specs and probably best build quality (gorilla glass)

http://www.phonearena.com/phones/...,8572,8208

I believe the listing there is incomplete as the MotoG does indeed have a microsd slot.

They are good if you have coverage in your area. I switched over from PPC few months back but it doesn't cut it for me so I am going back to PPC in the next few days.

Their family plans are great.

Prepaid/postpaid doesn't matter as long as you switch from: T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile or Cincinnati Bell

If you're a new customer looking for a referral then you need to get it from an existing Cricket customer (limit 1 initial referral per account) -- need to sign up and wait for referral email (up to 24 hrs) before ordering online or buying in-store

If you're an existing Cricket customer then you need to find people to refer (max 10 referrals per account per year for up to $250 account credit) -- not sure if they started enforcing the max 10 limit yet or not

SD doesn't like people asking for referrals

For the free phones I think most people will go with the HTC Desire since its Android so there will be more apps available -- few might go for the Lumia 635

If you don't mind spending a little more then the Moto G for $25 isn't bad either
