MashUp XBMC Addon auto removal fixed!
I am sure a lot of SD users are using MashUp and noticed the recent auto update removed it completely from your system.
There are already some fixes available but what I have seen so far involve to install an older changed MashUp addon install file.
Or to change your host file or block IPs in your firewall.
Blocking the IPs in your Firewall or changing the host file will also block some other addons to perform auto updates.
I played around, looked at the Python code and found an easy way to get it fixed and use the newest update (I do believe it is1.4.0. I used 1.4.0) before Mash messed it up and removed it without notice.
If you backed up your MashUp using a backup program or copied the XBMC folder as backup to somewhere else restore the "plugin.video.movie25" folder. No other folder is needed.
In Windows it's located under C:\Users\"Your user name"\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.movie25
Open that folder and open file "default.py" (that is the Phyton code file) and search for "from resources.libs import autoupdate"
Below you see code:
UpdateUrl = 'https://github.com/
Change the .com to something that doesn't exist like .pr
Now you can start XBMC and MashUp. You see the update messages (only ones) but no updates are performed because the update link cannot be reached.
I have attached the changed "plugin.video.movie25" folder if you did not backed up your MashUp folder in any way or if you don't want / like to do it the manual way.
Just download, unzip and copy the included "plugin.video.movie25" folder to the XBMC addon folder and overwrite / replace the existing.
Tried it on multiple systems and it worked on all of them.
You cannot just change the default.py file after the auto update already ran. Mash removed a lot and changed files.
