(12-3-14) Microsoft has begun posting info. about its 12 Days of Deals:

-- Promotion runs Dec. 8 (not 9) thru 19.

-- Deals start each day at 8 a.m. EST online; additionally, "Visit your local store for early shopper doorbuster deals starting 12/8"

-- The deals page: http://www.microsoftstore.com/sto...D.67001200

-- 1st day's deal: Toshiba Encore Mini tablet, with bonus 16GB microSD card - $79 (regularly $119)

(12-5-14) Per the Microsoft YouTube 12 Days of Deals--Day 1 page, the 1st day's Toshiba tablet will be offered in stores (but not online) as a doorbuster at $49; and then at both stores and online at "Deal of the Day" pricing of $79. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBA7I6YzE1w

Per Microsoft emails as to the deals:

"Offers valid for limited time. Limited quantities available, while supplies last. Doorbuster price is available only to the first 50 customers in full-line stores, and first 25 customers in specialty stores [kiosks]. Doorbuster limited to one per customer before 12 noon. No rain checks. Availability and pricing varies by location. Certain exclusions and limitations may apply. Not valid on prior orders or purchases . . . ."

The separate All-Day Deal--not Doorbuster--pricing, both in-store and online, is good all day, until sold out.

HP Pavilion 2-In-1 PC
The advertisement is very misleading. This isn't a 2 in 1 computer. This is a Windows tablet with a magnetic keyboard. Some users asked in this thread about the Asus Transformer T100 and the Acer Switch. The HP will work only on hard surfaces(the so called notebook mode)This will not stay on your lap or if your laying in bed. This product does not have the full functionality of a laptop like the Transformer Book or Switch. It's a great price for a tablet but this is not a 2 in 1.

ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP500LA
I just removed the HDD and installed a 9mm SSD (Kingston HyperX 3k) without any trouble. I had read in an article that it had to be a 7mm, but this is untrue.

I purchased the 12 mo. of Xbox Music service last year for $29.99. I've really enjoyed using the service on my Xbox One and my iPhone, especially for just $2.49 a month!

On-line deals weren't as good as in-store , I was surprised it's wasn't as packed and was able to get them even though they had a limit for the first come first serve basis.

Did you actually see last year's deals?

A newly-issued, nice Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, with Microsoft Office Home, for 1/3rd of the tablet alone's retail price (on sale for a whopping $99), JBL Flip BT speaker for 60% off retail, a loaded HP laptop for 45% off, etc.

Am looking forward to seeing if the event goes forward this year and with what deals (although my wallet isn't . . .).

yeah that was definetely a good part of that deal. the online was a disaster, in store was more smooth. but my experience i had to be in line at 3am. it was well worth it.
some people even managed to get lucky and go to 24 hr walmarts and price match when microsofts page updated and avoid the out of stock page when it went live.
