Hi all,

Updated on May 25, 2016:
NEWS - Amazon FireTV and FireStick has been pushed with new version 5.0.5.1 which will NOT work with FireStarter. One programmer found a fix and made an APK for fixing it. Just sideload this APK with your adbFire and it should fix it. I have tested the patch and it did fixed. Not sure how safe it is.

Source: https://github.com/sphinx02/FireStarter
"FireStarter broken in newest FireTV-Firmware Versions >= 5.0.5.1

Thanks to jkchr1s there exists a temporary workaround which fixes the problems in parts. I recommend to download the APK only from the GitHub-Repo https://github.com/jkchr1s/FireStarter/releases ! If you are not familiar with installing APK's, you can try the links posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/s...tcount=633 (be careful, download only .APK files and think about what you are doing!)."

I also can't make my newest adbFire v2.02 working either by connecting with the FireTV or Stick. I end up using my older version such as v2.0.1 seem to still works: http://www.jocala.com/adbfire201.html

Hey I found a better option to keep updated with the frequently new version of the Kodi.

Use FireStarter will replace the function of the two apps Llama or the Pilot to startup Kodi.

Pros for using FireStarter:
1). One app can doing the Kodi updates to the latest version Kodi version i.e. like Kodi Jarvis it will grab and update to the latest when you run the check for Kodi. Same to update its own FireStarter app. In this way your Kodi can be update very easily.
2). I love this FireStarter as it makes it every easy to access Kodi without going inside Amazon FireTV menu option to get to Kodi (as it hide and will not show up in the FireTV frequent app list). And you don't have to unlock the PIN to get to the App Menu listing to open it.
3). To get to the Kodi the FireStarter can be customize load up after a reboot and just open the Kodi icon.
4). You can set the FireTV Remote's "Home" button to open Kodi by setting it to double-click to open Kodi and single click to open it back to the regular FireTV Amazon menu to watch Prime stuff if you have an account or vs.on the setting.

Go here and download and sideload it into your FireTV Stick/Box.
https://github.com/sphinx02/FireStarter

Here is a YouTube Video how FireStarter works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_gkSeGBJP4

And guys if you think you need a new updated guide with this change I can write one up too. Only if there is a demand for it. PM and let me know, thanks.

Out of all of the Chinese Add-on Channels those are the one I recommends. There are half other dozen I didn't add due to confusing menu option (I can't read in Chinese) and too many dead links to shows and movies or load up issues.

1). Azdrama.net (Lots of TVB Drama and Shows).
2). DramaFever (Chinese and other Asian Movies and Shows with English Sub and Dub).
3). DramaGo
4). Asia TVs
5). CCTV Replay (Mainland TVs).
6). QIYI
7.) SoHu
8.) Funshion
9) 天线委宝

Update: March 14, 2015:
Now Amazon offer Kodi directly:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...pldnSite=1
http://kodi.wiki/view/Amazon_Fire_TV
"Launch Kodi from Recent on the FTV Home Screen

This process allows Kodi to show in Recent on the FireTV Home Screen. Note that Kodi will not show in the main Apps menu, only Recent.

Amazon only approves Kodi for Android mobile devices, not the FireTV. Therefore it still needs to be installed and upgraded via sideloading.

Procedure
1. "Buy" Kodi on the Amazon Store. (It is free.)
2. On the FireTV, select Settings, My Account, then Sync Amazon Content
3. Now Kodi will show in Recent Apps on the FireTV Home Screen.

Troubleshooting
Before Kodi shows in Recents, it must be recently run. If you haven't used Kodi yet, launch it from Settings, Applications first.
You may need to restart your FireTV and sync again.
Some users have reported that they needed to de-register and then re-register their FireTV. "

Update: December 29, 2014. I end up using AutoPilot to auto load my current Kodi v14.0 Helix (XBMC version) and using Llama with Classic TV to launch Kodi. I notice there is a bug when you do the testing for see if Llama was program up correctly as it wouldn't let me name the Event. Let me know if you guys also needed a How To Steps for it too and I will write another short guide for it.

Update: December 14, 2014.
Okay some of you ask if there is live sports. I am not a sport fan but I was able to confirm there is many to choose from. Two best one that has live stream sports channels are SportsDevil and CLiQ.

11. From your FTVS controller navigate back to Systems> scroll down to Developer Options> Enable ADB debugging.
12. Also enabled check box for "Apps From Unknown Sources".

Install adbFire And Sideloading TVMC (Kodi):
13. Install the adbFire application to your device.
14. Open your adbFire app.

15. From adbFire Windows input your FireTV Stick Ip Address into the Device Address box and click the "Connect" button.

16. Once connected> Click on the "Install APK" button and browse into where your TVMC apk file are located.

17. On the lower right-hand corner you will be able to see the status bar when it is done you should get a adbFire new Windows pop-up confirmed it is Installed> Click Ok.
Open Up TVMC from Amazon FireTV Stick:
18. This part I don't know how to added it into the Amazon recent menu or maybe it needs to be rooted? To get to TVMC you must go into Amazon's Applications Menu> Manage> Scroll to locate XBMC (or TVMC) and click for the menu option to Launch application.

19. You should get something like this loaded.

Configure TVMC:
NOTE: There are three methods of setting it up from TVAddons.arg they recommend install the Fusion Installer by using Config Wizard or the Addon Installer method. http://www.tvaddons.ag/install-addons-kodi/
20. We will skip the TVAddons.arg method and go directly using SuperRepo's Addon Installer Method with the zip file.
21. Why? They setup has over 1,300 Add-On Channels that works. They includes many international channels plus many Asian channels like Hong Kong/China both Mainland channels, such as TVB (TVB Azdrama), Korean, Japanese, India, etc.
22. SuperRepo.org: http://superrepo.org/get-started/...as-source/
23. Follow their Method 1 by using Keyboard/Mouse controller.
24. Install SuperRepo Using Only A Keyboard: http://superrepo.org/get-started/...-keyboard/
25. Start up TVMC if it is not started already.
26. Navigate to the SYSTEM> File Manager option.

27. Click "Add Source" and from the "Add files Source" Windows type in their Repo website address.
28. Type in the address: http://srp.nu/ and type in a name like *SuperRepo or just "SuperRepo".

29. Click Ok and it should look like below. Get back out to the TVMC Home screen menu.

30. From the Home screen go back to SYSTEM> Settings and click it and it should open up the Change Your Settings Windows.

31. Scroll down to Add-ons> Install from zip file.

32. Drill down to your "SuperRepo"> from the Install from zip file we wanted the Gotham version.

33. Pick "gotham" folder.

34. Select "all".

35. From here I don't recall which one I picked. I think I remember I tried "download-this-repo.zip", tried it and I end up installing the other two zip files (all-0.5.205.zip and all-latest.zip).

36. Here is what they stated from their website but the information might be old.

37. Add your Favorite Add-On Channels. Exit out of the Get Add-on and go back to the Home screen menu and navigate to the VIDEOS> Add-ons.

38. From the Add-Ons Windows it would only listed Channels that were popular or has been enabled to show up there. If your favorite Add-On channels is not on the list you will have to add them by scrolling to the below and select> "Get More..."

39. For example how to add a channel we will add the Asian popular Add-on Channels that has many Asian channel TV Movies and Chinese show from TVB, etc.
40. Scroll down the list to AzDrama and select it. It should take you to the Add-on Information Window.

41. From the Add-information you will have to Enable it to allow it to show up or vs. if you have other channels you wanted to hide such as Adult Channels. NOTE: For Chinese folks AzDrama has many TVB shows, latest Movies, and mainland and other drama. To see other Mainland "Live" TV shows and movies scroll all the way down from the 1,300 and you should see them in ().

42. You are almost all set!!!
How To I Make My Channels As Favorites or Show Up As An Picture Icon??
43. From the Same Videos - Add-ons> Hold the select button longer (I right-click on my mouse for my PC XBMC) and I think it should give you the pop-up option to "Add from favourites" or again vs. to remove them from the favourites by "Remove from favorites:

44. Okay added my Favorite so where did it go?
45. Well... go back to your Home screen menu and click on the Blue shaded White Star> and you should get the Favorite Pop-up.

46. Now the part to add them as a short-cut icon that took some researching on my past.
47. The changes are back at the Change Your Settings> Appearance.

48. From your Appearance - Settings> Select "Skin"> Settings

49. From the Skin setting - Add-On. To get there go to the last option> Add-on Shortcuts. There is only a 5 Icon box limit. So pick the Add-on 1 - 5 and pick your five favorite channels.

50. For this example I replaced 1Channel with AnimeFTW.tv.

51. Enjoy!!!

52. This is end of your training and you deserve a nice drink to chillax and enjoy some movies and show ;>

Nice I can't wait to get mine.
Let me know how you've like it so far with TVMC (720p vs 1080p). I haven't really heard much about TVMC. I have tried SPMC though which seems to be the same...

It may be a silly question but I am quite new to TVMC. Can TVMC stream live tv? If yes, is it by default or any add-ons required? Also can you list out other uses of TVMC in Firestick?

[Update 1]
Also you may want to add the below step before step 5. I took some time to figure this out as it was not connecting to the device. After enabling ADB Debugging it connected in a snap.

4. Make sure your PC is on the same network as your FireTV Stick.
===> Goto Settings->System->Developer Options->ADB Debugging and toggle it to ON
5. Click the "Connect" button from the Device Address.

[Update 2]
Started exploring TVMC and it sure is fun learning. :-)
