So far ZTE has been unresponsive to requests from its users to unlock the bootloader. I'm not aware of anyone who's had luck.

Got one today at Walmart. It's a really great phone for the money.

Root would be great, but I've been researching and so far there's no available root for this device due to locked bootloader. I think this phone just came out in September 2014 so if we give it time, maybe there's a chance towelroot (or any) might work for it.

You can also disable some of the bloatware apps in the settings to prevent it from hogging resource.

I got a Nexus 4 which I like but it came out in 2012 and I think its time for an upgrade. Thoughts on switching to this phone?
