This is the updated version of a PC Stick deal I posted almost exactly 2 years ago. (Previous Deal Link)

This latest model has been upgraded to include a Quad-core CPU and GPU along with DLNA and Miracast support among other things.

Deal Link: MK808b PLUS - Android 4.4 PC Stick, Quad-core, Bluetooth, DLNA, etc - $39.99 $38.99 - Shipped FREE [geekbuying.com]

If you're unfamiliar with the seller, they are among the largest in China and probably my favorite Android etailer.
Here is their Reseller Ratings page: 9.46 / 10 with 1k+ reviews. [resellerratings.com]

There are other deals on the original link page that give you an $8 gift card or a $15 gift card if you're interested...... Click HERE [geekbuying.com]

I'm pretty much an expert on the older MK808 and MK808b models so feel free to PM me if you have any questions and I'll help if I can.
I've probably flipped 100+ of the previous MK808b version but you can no longer buy them as the factory has stopped making them altogether, fyi.

Enjoy ! ! Big Grin

It's just another option and has functionality not available on the Amazon stick, as well as the ability to not be locked down like a fortress.

Just because Jeep makes a vehicle doesn't mean people won't be interested in a Toyota.

For the sake of argument, I bought the Amazon stick when it went on pre-sale and still have room in my life for tablets, TV Boxes, and PC Sticks.
Each serves their purpose.

When you can sideload a Jeep into a Toyota, there won't be any interest. Wink

Of course you have room, you need to sell these dongles to make money. Amazon just threw a $20 wet blanket on your livelihood. Intel is killing off your high end android boxes with $99 tablets with HDMI out.

I'll stop beating a dead horse with rational replies if you stop beating a dead horse with irrational accusations.

Whatever I flip on eBay makes up about 0.5% of my yearly income and whatever people buy from deals posted on SD doesn't factor into what I sell my own devices for.
You're looking at it wrong.....I LOVE that Intel is releasing budget devices and driving the pricepoint down for people to enter the market.
First and foremost, I'm a tech-junkie, then an Android fan, then a deal-flipper.

I've got a bank of Mk808b's. Is this significantly faster? How's the stability? My 808b's are rock solid. Also, are these pre-rooted?

Maybe you're one of my eBay customers?? Big Grin

Here is the quick summary:

1. XBMC 13.2 Pre-installed.
2. Comes Pre-rooted to allow custom ROM and configuration.
3. Uses Amlogic S805 which handles 1080p hardware decoding without breaking a sweat, the older RK3066 would bog down depending on CPU speed and firmware.
4. Supports h.265 video hardware decoding / playback which is huge for people that use it primarily for movies and video.
5. The obvious stuff such as Quad-core vs. older dual-core, newer Android build, etc.

Am I the only one who thinks streams sent to Chromecast look better than when played on the device? WatchESPN looks much sharper on my 50" Plasma than it does on the LG G3. Is this just me or is this true for all Chromecast-capable apps?

I'm thinking of getting one of these and rid myself of the sluggish HDMI sticks (and WD TV Live).

getting my popcorn... laugh out loud

Im set with my $65 samsung homesync android media PC (retail was like $299 EEK!) with 1TB internal, dual usb 3.0, hdmi out etc... thing is beautiful and works perfectly with my samsung tablets/phones... otherwise I would prob venture out and get a PLUS as I would rather have one of these than the amazon firesticks but I think there is a market for both...

Naw, bought mine on Amazon over a year ago. Does it output 4k? Is the wifi stable? Custom recovery yet?

And are they stable as the 808b's?

Could it just be the resolution of the devices compared to the TV's version of the same image?
Maybe things just seem more glorious when viewed on 50"? Big Grin

$65 for a media PC is pretty amazing with specs like that.
If I would have seen that deal I probably would have jumped as well.

I just buy, buy, buy and whatever doesn't suit my needs I sell on eBay to keep my reseller discount and more ratings.
That's why I get bothered by people that bash some of the China / budget devices.
I've sold off plenty of Samsung / Acer / Lenovo devices and kept the Zopo / Tronsmart / PiPo products instead.

As for the popcorn comment.......let's hope not. It gets so old.
I just want to post a deal every once in a while without the drama.
It's just not necessary.

If it's pre-rooted I'd imagine they have custom recovery already installed, but if not it's just a click away on the Google Play store to install your own since it's rooted.
Wifi instability is fairly rare these days as these types of devices have been out for 3+ years and they have the kinks for major things like WiFi worked out well when they release these new iterations.
I'm not seeing anywhere that it outputs 4k, but I can't say 100% on that either.
My first thought on that is, "I still don't know anyone that has a 4k TV" and, "By the time I get a 4K TV I'll just by the 16 chip dual-octa-core version of the mK808b" nod

Not intimately familiar with Slingbox other than hearing the word a million times, but the answer to the second part of your question is, Yes.
You put an Android OS / Computer displayed out onto your bigscreen TV using an HDMI port the same way you would hook up a DVD or BluRay or Cable box to your screen or receiver.
It is controlled with a USB mouse or keyboard, a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, an IR mouse or keyboard, or a wireless Air Mouse/ Remote.

Search RC11, Tronsmart TSM-01, Mele F10 pro or others to get an idea of what an air mouse would look like.
