Is this just older than the M2i series?

The older one is the one with 3d, the m801i-d3
This M801i-a3 would be the newer one with dimming zones, no 3d

I don't believe they say the 80" is technically included as an 'm2i' series
The panel is different on the 80" (edge lit). Some say sourced from Sharp

And it has fewer dimming zones (16) than its smaller namesakes
People are guessing it was their first attempt at the M series (dimming zones) and used leftover 80" panels

So, No. They haven't made an 80" M2i series, similar to the m652i-b2 or m701i-a2 with 36+ dimming zones, etc etc

I just called my Sam's Club. They said BS
Maybe at your store. . .

If you have a choice of the 70" with 4K or this TV for same price, which way do you go?
