Looks to be on sale at a lot of stores. Also the as100v is also on sale for 218.00
As for this model, it appears to be the same as the as30 except no GPS. Pretty good for under $100.

Thanks OP. Got one from Sony. Got 10% off corporate perks EPP discount then $25 back from Amex offer.

Edit: Sony's webpage said a free 16GB card is included but my order page didn't show any.

Yes, you can buy an inexpensive adapter that converts it to the GoPro style mount. Perhaps even better, the housing has a high quality built in tripod screw mount (1/4" threaded). I have an AS15, and it is very convenient to be able to use any tripod in arm's reach to get a stable platform. You can actually even go to a hardware store and get a 1/4" threaded stainless bolt (for about $.05) and build indestructible mounts onto whatever you want. Make sure to get the right length so as not to damage the housing, and use a little piece of flat adhesive rubber to provide a nice soft surface (as found at the top of every tripod you've ever used).
I recently got a GoPro as well, and have been frustrated trying to mount it to things, since I'm not equipped with their weird clip and threaded mount system. It makes sense, and lots of things are available, but if you aren't trying to mount it to your face or your sneaker or whatever, it's a lot nicer to have the tripod mount.

I agree. Used to be a Sony fan. After a series of bad experience with their camera, camcorder, computer, no more Sony craps for me.

What did you get to put it over $100 to use the AMEX promo?
