Is there alternatives to Limelight App. It works on most OSes but it requires a NVdia Video Card. I have an ATI Card. Is there any ATI alternatives for Apps?

its based on the nvidia shield streaming protocol i would guess so no there's no AMD equiv as AMD hasn't released any information regarding streaming.

On PC you can add non Steam games to your library and use the steam in home streaming. On Android you have 2 options for the most part. Kainy and Splashtop.

I haven't spent any time with Splashtop, but Kainy is almost functional. It does have a really good control map setup and syncs up as a 360 controller nicely, but the lag is nasty. There is a trial/ad version if you want to give it a go. Honestly though, streaming games is just not a good experience. You will spend more time messing with the setup than actually playing. The nvidia Shield does it well, if you are willing to drop over a grand into the setup. Really not worth it.

Not sure if it is a true thing, but I seem to have much better results on my nvidia box than my ati one. Wish I had gone nvidia again on my last build. I was able to play tomb raider using the Steam streaming onto a windows tablet with very little lag from my ati machine.

Got tired of the stream not working on my pc so I streamed from my laptop to a tablet. Didn't realize it was not plugged in and was sitting on my couch.

Played for a few minutes and the stream kicked me off. I could hear my laptop beeping death from the other room, but the game was still running and the machine wasn't turning off like I suspect it should of.

Ran over and turned it off. The heat sync on the side was hot enough it burned me through the plastic. Luckily the couch wasn't damaged.

Yikes! What laptop are you using? It must have a decent GPU if you're running Mooooordoor on it...

It's a Sager NP6110. Definitely a no frills laptop, pure function over form at a discount.

i7 3610QM processor (ivy), 8gb ram and a 2gb GT 640m. Also threw in a SSD to load a bit faster.

Manages to run the game at about midrange while getting blistering hot. Can't even attempt to run the high res textures though. Need 6gb of vram to run them.

Not sure about the design choice on how the battery works. It seems to get insanely hot like it steals power from the fan to run the GPU. I would expect it to throttle down or something.

Been using this for the last couple of years and have been rather pleased so far.
