I've pulled the trigger on this one vs. the $200 Nest

Awesome thanks! Ordered one yesterday though... Wouldn't let me make account and can't figure out how to modify or cancel. Just placing new order and will reach out to them and try to cancel original.

Very nice. I use an older Venstar multi-room thermostat and I don't really need to upgrade, but if I were shopping for one right now I'd be all over this.

In my opinion, and having used a multi-room thermostat for quite a few years now, I consider any thermostat that isn't multi-room to be a useless gimmick (nest for instance). It's a simple idea that is far more useful than wi-fi, smartphone control, automatic learning, etc... Considering that this thermostat has all of the above built-in, it's awesome.

Damn makes me think about Nest 2. Decisions decisions. Worst case flip 2 sensor pack.

What is the advantage to this over multiple $92 Honeywell RTH6580WF WiFi thermostats? They seem to accomplish the same goal, have redundancy, and provide additional places where you can change the temperature such as anywhere you happen to have an Internet connection.

I think so. You can place several sensors in multiple rooms for better temperature adjustments, depending on where you are. Also newer than Nest and seems open to further additions/sensors.

Can anyone vouch for the energy savings? Difficult to do because of all the variables, but if it's anywhere near 23% like they claim, it's an investment that pays for itself.

If anyone wants some info about comparing Wifi thermostats this was helpful when I made my decision on which one to buy.

And this is supposed to be a reputable source? Either way, it doesn't compare the new Ecobee3 which is the subject of this deal (and the question you tried to answer). Don't put any eggs in this basket.
