Thread Details

In this week, Bestbuy is having a promotion of free dishwasher installation ($399 dishwasher or up). All stores (HD, Lowes, Sears, BB) normally charge $185+ for the service.

I bought a Whirlpool DU1148X and the total cost is $406 including everything. I cancelled a simialr order from Sears which was $580 total.

If your dishwasher is $499 or up, it is free delivery. If it is below $499, you can pick it up by yourself and have them free installed for you at home.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I got free installation on my dishwasher from a couple months ago...I did it myself Smilie

Im not trying to thread crap, but installing a dishwasher is pretty easy. Please be aware that they do charge extra for anything "extra" that needs to be done. New wiring, plumbing, etc.

dishwasher install from lowes is only 124 and that includes delivery , hookup , and haul away.
best buy double dips by chargeing install then charging delivery. also when one company is doing free install then the others follow

Lowes here charges $195 (HD $185, Sears $185). Anyway, DIY always saves money. However, if you do not want to mess around and can hire someones do it professionally for free, why not?

I believe the install is only $80 normally. However this is a deal I've been waiting for. Look for the open box dishwashers for the Slickdeal

Just an update. I am just glad that someone did the installation for me. My house is old and the dishwasher is also old. It took the guy one hour to take the old one out and change the lines, connectors, wires etc.

Once everything is out, it took him 5 minutes to put the new one in. So, if you have a new house, you can try to DIY. However, if you have an old house and old plumbing, you will be glad if you hire someone do it professionally.

I put one in my moms house when I was 14 and its was a very old house.

I just depends on how mechanically inclined you are.

thanks for the thread but if you really have to pay someone to install your dishwasher then I kinda feel sorry for you as a man LMAO

Directions:
1. Turn off breaker for dishwasher, test washer again just to be sure its off
2. Unscrew 2 screws holding old dishwasher to underside of countertop
3. Slide old dishwasher toward you, there is enough slack in both electrical and water lines
4. Undo water "feed-tube" and "discharge-tube"
5. Open electrical box in dishwasher with screwdriver
6. Unscrew electical caps found on each wire (should be 2 or 3 of them)
7. Get new dishwasher and attach wires in the same color fashion
8. Repeat above in reverse

dishwashers, gas dryers, gas ranges, and otr (over the range) microwaves are contracted out by bb, so it's not a BB employee installing those appliances. BB delivery (BB employees) do install washers/dryers/fridges/ranges (non-gas) though.
