OP, thank you for the heads-up on this deal. My son was looking for this SSD and I was able to get an additional $10 off by paying with my PayPal account. That NewEgg/PayPal discount is good until 12/22. I first saw it when the deal showed up in my PayPal Wallet, so the timing couldn't have been more perfect!

who the hell cares

$80 for a reliable SSD.

It's CRUCIAL PEOPLE. The leading design for desktop memory since the Windows ME days.

I will definitely be placing an order for this once i get home. (hopefully it doesn't sell out by then)

LOL. Maybe that's why I didn't get any luck with my last couple of Crucial SSD's... They lead the way since "Windows ME". vomit

Don't worry about it - SSD prices have been on a downward trend. You will get this price or better on future days if you don't get this particular deal. What I mean is, there is no reason to jump on some deal now out of fear the prices will go up, because the prices are going down.

There are 209 reviews on products page and another 1,913 reviews on amazon although that's probably for all the SSD sizes.

Same price on Amazon. Unless there is a discount on Newegg, I might just get it from amazon seeing how both places is going to charge tax but I'll get it quicker with Amazon.

Crucial is solid but no longer a market leader. Samsung easily overtook them.

The new M100 outperforms it. It's also 16GB larger. So generally speaking, it really hasn't even been cheaper per GB that the comparable M100 deals that have been around. Must still be decent demand or they would have slashed prices more. I guess many assume 100 > 500 and that's keeping demand up.

Price is going down. The SSD performance is not impressive. The price is OK in the cyber week. I bet a better price in X'mas sale later this month. A waiting game. Smilie
