um isnt that whats so cool about the mountek -- that its not another suction cup mount (that for most cars is ideal on the windshield). dont get me wrong i love my iottie but i use it on the windshield. i'm thinking about getting this cuz the cd slot maybe alot more ideal..

Thanks! Just what I was looking for to replace my car mount. Skipped the magnetic ones since I didn't want to deal with magnets screwing up the compass/gps.

I've purchased 3 of these so far, love them as they don't block my windshield. However there is a slight rattle from them when going over bumps and they will block any controls that sit above the cd slot.

Your mount sucks and is big and ugly. This mountek has low profile, won't leave a stupid ring on your windscreen and doesn't have big ol clips to stick out. This mountek with the small plate holds my S5 through a cruserlite case with no issues.

Thanks OP! In 4 1. I've never really had a good car mount for my phones so this should be helpful. I'm tempted to get one for my wife too but she might get mad cause I buy so much crap hahaha.

this mountek is an older version which I also have. The problem for me was the adjustment screw covered part of my LCD screen. Now I use the newer version which uses a magnet and has a cleaner profile but is not currently on sale: http://www.amazon.com/Mountek-nGr...ds=mountek

Thanks for the info. I'm confused though - how would the adjustment screw cover part of your LCD? Isn't it on the bottom of this unit? So wouldn't it always be below your phone/tablet anyway? Or are you referring to the LCD screen that's part of your car dash?

I have been using the mounttec magnet one for months and i can assure you its doesnt effect my phones compass or gps in any way. I use waze everyday to and from work so i think i would notice any interference by now.

its actually one of my favorite accessories i have for my phone.... and i have alot.

yes Jplee3, The screw covers the LCD on my dash (sorry for the confusion). IMO the older mountek is still good, just not as good for me as the newer version. In the newer version the adjustment screw is "hidden" behind the phone.

Excellent mount if you don't want to block the windshield - of course subject to the CD placement in your vehicle.
