Personally speaking, I think it's an excellent deal for a 5 TB drive. But you just watch... in a few minutes we'll get a trove of stupid trolls & donkies that will butt in to thread and tell us how Seagate is utter useless crap because their one hard drive died after 2 months. blah blah etc... It's amazing how stupid & ignorant people are when it comes to technology. They think just because they use a computer, they know "something" about hard drives. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Thumbs UP OP. Get ready for all the Seagate haters because you know they're coming!

Seagate trends a little worse for reliability. That's just a fact. Doesn't mean people shouldn't buy them if the price is right.

Worked for me.

BTW can someone explain to me why external TB prices are lower than internal retail versions? I saw a slickdeal earlier for a 5TB internal for 199??

I've gotten two of the 4 TB versions of this and one of the 5 TB. They're going strong so far as internal drives. The 4 TB ones have pretty much been running 24/7 since I got them. I do have backups of the data just in case (as for any hard drive) but they're going strong.

4 TB STCA4000100 #1: 6/24/2013
4 TB STCA4000100 #2: 1/7/2014
5 TB STDT5000100 (not this model but probably same internal drive): 11/26/2014
