Just got off the phone with Customer service and it has been verified

Finally Comcast to upgrade

Colorado, Washington, Oregon , Utah MST timezone to Extreme 105mbps on Dec 16

Make sure you reset your cable modems

Also if anyone has the latest bill there is supposed to be a letter confirming that you will receive the upgrade. If anyone has it please upload it to this thread, i do not have time now.

People who are paying for Extreme now will be upgraded to 150mbps

Currently i get around 72mbps with blast so i am expecting at least 120mbps easy with the extreme 105mbps

ITS OFFICIAL . JUST DID A RESET AND I AM GETTING 126.5 MBPS

Looking forward to the speed increase

will be a nice Christmas bonus Smilie

How much do folks in these areas pay for Comcast Internet + Blast? My bill (rent the modem) running about $75 / mo.

Cool - I'm in Colorado and I have Blast. I just got a new cable modem from Comcast for the X1 triple play service. Hopefully that modem supports the faster speed!

Buy your own modem and save the rental fees. Just make they are Docsys 3.0 Comcast compatible.

Why don't you get your own modem?

Some people enjoy providing "xfinitywifi" to their neighbors Smilie

Imagine that, already paying comcast a rental fee and they are using you as a hotspot. They should be giving it to you for free if they are doing that.

....why don't I buy my own modem? Because I don't want to mess with the hassle of having to replace it if it breaks, not that I've ever had one break. It's one of the few items I do lease (including car) instead of buy, just to avoid the "hassle". I recognize it's more expensive than owning in this case.

I have triple play with phone service and it was much cheaper to use their modem than buy my own.

How does one log into the Comcast modem and make the wi-fi password protected? I don't mind the "xfinitywifi" hotspot service because it is outside of my LAN but don't want anyone to access my LAN through any other default and unprotected wi-fi that the modem may have...

EDIT - anyone can disable the "xfinitywifi" service easily. I just did this: http://www.tomsguide.com/us/how-t...6770325175
