Meh. I think the point is that the sorting takes no effort, since it's basically a progressive sieve, and I think my 5yo son would actually enjoy that part quite a bit.

Lots of "older" kids use Legos as well, but I suspect they would already have their own sorting techniques.

I need a 5 gallon bucket size, went to a resale shop last year and bought 15 gallon ziplocks full for 30 bucks. My son uses a solid milk crate right now to hold them all, mounded up to the top.
