I brought IPHONE 6 for $129@walmart today. I traded in my iphone 4s, which was valued at $179. I paid the $129+$60(in taxes@CA) with this deal.....

This is with 2 year contract with ATT.

So you paid d179 + 129 = $308 . Isn't that more than normal price?

No, he paid 129 plus taxes, the story about trading in his phone is just bragging.

Why have you listed $60 as taxes? That doesn't make sense

you are charged the taxes based on the retail value of the phone, not how much you paid for the phone, Walmart and some other retailers do this

No i did a phone trade in at walmart. Traded in iphone 4 = $179 value which covered full cost of the phone. I paid taxes on $179 (around $10). NOOB.

I am returning the phones but ya its around $10 in tax when i did it.

Unless your trying to tell me that you got the phone without a contract..............

This is a great deal... You are still walking out with $50.

walmart in california are charging tax at retail price. They said that they didn't used to charge tax on retail price until 2-3 weeks ago. But, now it is the policy from the carrier to charge tax on original price.

Why is it illegal? Its always been the case in California. Everybody charges tax @retail price, even bestbuy and any other store in this area.

idk..in NJ, we only pay the tax on the actual price we pay with the contract. not the full retail of the phone..

Sounds like CA sales taxes are f*cked up. I know living in Cali is very expensive but charging taxes on full retail price of an object is theft.

In PA and NJ we pay 6% of the value. We would have paid $7.74 on taxes.
