Right now Dell Outlet is having a "Days of Deals" [dell.com] sale. Today is Day 5, and they're offering 30% off XPS Desktops and All-in-Ones.

Code:
Coupon code: Q7GZQ5Z58DC59T
Expires Sunday, December 14th.
They also happen to be offering a coupon [dell.com] for 10% off any Dell Outlet Home XPS desktop.

Code:
Coupon code: TLGTQN3GH2$6WD
Expires Friday, December 26th.
These coupons do stack!! (proof). [imgur.com] I'm not sure this was intended, so get in while you can (and before expiration, which is a few hours). This deal comes out a little better than the recent popular 35% off coupon that was offered over BF/CM weekend.

Inventory can be found here. [dell.com]

New firmware was posted online to solve the GTX 970/980 problem.

Now these cards work with the XPS 8700

Lolwut. i7-4790 is six months old.

Someone must have seen this post and bought a system. The number of XPS8700s dropped by about a dozen in the last few minutes.

Fortunately a Win7 Pro machine dropped into inventory within 10 minutes of me checking this with Check4Change. No way I was touching this with Win 8.anything.

Anyone have experiences with 8700's? Quick what's the good and bad? There's always a bad with Dells I've had many.

Here's another example:

Normally $1949...

Processor: Intel Core 4th Generation i7-4790 processor (8M Cache, up to 4.0 GHz)
Windows 8.1 Pro
256 GB Solid State Drive
3TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive 6.0 Gb/s
32GB Quad Channel DDR3 at 1600MHz
8X Blu-Ray BD Combo (Blu-ray ROM + DVD+/- RW)
AMD Radeon HD R9 270 2GB GDDR5
Dell Outlet XPS 8700

30%+10% off comes out to $1,227.87.

I'd love to see someone build that system for just over $1200 (and factor in your time stalking SD for the best prices, the assembly, and the headaches dealing with puzzling it together).
