Pivotal Tracker 1 Activity and Sleep Monitor and Fitness Tracker

One of the fitbit competitors. I ordered one several weeks ago and it finally came. Much nicer than expected for $15.

Some people have reported shipping dates after Christmas but it looks like amazon is shipping them prime on Friday (Mine said estimated arrival Dec 24th). It is also available via pivotal living (previous posts) but being on amazon is a big deal for people who want the consistency and reliably of Amazon.

Not really sure how they are selling them at the price point offered but certainly is much better than anything close at the $15 range.

Bluetooth 4.0 and 1 week battery.

Avoid this piece of crap !! Read last few pages for reviews.

ANDROID APP IS OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE! IT IS CALLED PIVOTAL LIVING IN THE APP STORE!

I received mine 12/19/2014. There's no Android app yet, but you can use it for standalone pedotmeter by double pressing the button to navigate through the menu. They said Android app will be out before Christmas. iOS users are okay, but I think there's no app for iPad.

Does anyone know the 4 digit Bluetooth password for pairing? I want to try if my S-Health works with it or not.

FYI from the Q & A on the Amazon page: "They plan to (essentially) give away the hardware & charge the customer a yearly subscription fee for the software. If the software is superior, they are betting that people will re-up each year."

Seems to be $12 a year for the service.

Arguably the most interesting part about the Life Tracker 1 and Pivotal Living is its subscription model. After the first year, you can renew your subscription and get a new device for free or renew and keep your current device if you're happy with it. Pivotal told us that there will likely be upgraded versions of the Life Tracker 1 as years go by, but currently the company says that there will be no extra cost to upgrade your device after the year is up - you'll only have to pay the $12 subscription fee.

If you choose to cancel, Pivotal says you can keep the Life Tracker 1 band. While you'll still have access to the Pivotal Living app, you will not be able to make use of all its features, including sleep tracking and the vibrating alarm you program through the app that wakes you up with light wristband vibrations.

The software (at least this far of my weekly testing) seems to be ok but nothing special to write home about. However, the hardware is really awesome at the price. The only ones I've seen on online auctions have been $40+. These are pretty nice for gifts for people who want to try fitness trackers out without dropping $100 on a fitbit that may collect dust.

I ordered 2. One for a gift and the other for myself. For the price it is worth a try. As long as it syncs seamlessly with iOS 8 I will be satisfied.

subscription gives you a new tracker each year (or when the new ones come out). Great for the one year deal at the price point

I'm using it with ios8 and I'm not having any trouble. Syncs easily, haven't tried it with android yet

OP, how do you have one if the product hasn't even been released yet? Where did you order yours from?

Well just got my estimated delivery date on my order. Says January 28th. Wondering if that will be adjusted once the actual device is released this week. I am a prime member and I picked one-day shipping just to be safe.

It looks like the release dates were staggered with the company releasing a few to people who signed up early starting about a month ago.

I ordered mine from pivotal living's site several months ago (pre ordered after seeing Engadget review), it just shipped and received it last week. Honestly, I it might be vaporware due to the cheap price but it was worth the $15 risk. It came in last week and was much better than expected. You can still order them from the official site but the ship date was not firm like amazon. I always perfer to order stuff like this from amazon.

Any chance someone creates an open source software that can talk to this thing without needing subscription?
