Hot Wheels Super 6-Lane Raceway $49.99 (orig $99.99) In-Store Toys-R-Us YMMV

http://www.toysrus.com/product/in...op-of-page

First Post, I've been searching for this toy for 2 years for my five year old. Appears to be a seasonal item/rare issue?

If you check other online sources, amazon and ebay third party sellers list this for $100-$300 because I've never seen it in the flesh.

However I was in my local Toys-R-Us and they had 20 of them put out on the end caps, and in two locations in the aisle. Was marked with a limited time sale sticker, I believe from 12/14-12/20 for 50% off.

Online inventory checker shows my zip code to have zero in stock and none nearby, BUT like I said my store had PLENTY of stock on shelves. (Store: Riverside CA 92501) SO YMMV, good luck if you've had your eye on this elusive toy.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Weird on the pricing because I bought this two years ago on Black Friday for 40... I just don't think this was ever anywhere near $100....

True, I want to say this item seems to issue during the holidays and then discounts to sell, slickdeals shows a history for 2012 and 2011 - but I didn't see it last year when I was looking and I just saw it yesterday for the first time myself.

Lawstudent - I just want to say you are a true Christmas angel. I have been searching for this elusive 6-lane raceway for two years. It's been impossible to find, unless of course you want to get gouged by the unethical mom & pop merchants on Amazon who are charging $200-$300 for the item.

I looked up the item on the Toys-R-Us website, where it indicated it was available for store pickup. However, when adding it to my cart and providing my zip code, it showed "out-of-stock" in all stores at nearby (in the Atlanta metro area). I did a little more googling, and ran across your post, where you explained the Toys-R-Us website may not be accurately reflecting the inventory levels for this item.

Taking a shot, I drove to my local Toys-R-Us in Buford, GA a few hours ago. I nervously approached the Hot Wheels aisle I've frequented many times previously. And wouldn't you know...there it was, like a beacon of light: the 6-Lane Raceway right on the end cap! And yes, it was "on sale," marked down 50% from $99. There was ONE remaining on the end cap and none in the aisles. I literally got my hands on the last one, and I got it for $49.

This was a true Christmas miracle...and your post provided the impetus to pursue my hunch. I cannot thank you enough.

On on behalf of my son, for whom this will no doubt be the highlight of his Christmas morning toy opening, THANK YOU AGAIN!

Happy Holidays!
Dan

This is good news. I see them every Christmas and that's the only time. They where buy 1 get 1 half off the last time I checked and if I spent $150.00 I would be in the doghouse. I built my own track this year and it is a blast at fundraisers but big and bulky. These are great for around the house as they fold up nicely and are easy to setup but dont expect breakneck speed.

By the way the harder item to find is the rolls of 50ft track that was sold at KMart in 2004 they can go for $100 themselves and its just plastic lol. It's sad that these items are treated as collectors limited items as well.

BTW if you couldn't tell by now I have a couple cars Smilie

Dad thing is greedy people buy them up and resale them for triple the money on Ebay and Amazon..They are going for $150 to over $300 sad thing is these greedy people are hurting the kids who want one for Christmas and the only way they can get one is when on sale at stores. But these greedy people buy them up so poor kids can't get them at Christmas time only way to stop it is NOT buy from them. Then they will stop doing it.

When Toys R Us had them on sale last week for $59.99 a lot of Ebay sellers bought them then priced them from $150 to over $200..So to stop them from ripping you off do not buy stuff at Christmas time from anyone selling on Ebay. I also noticed that Toys R Us was selling them for normal price of $99.00. Now they jacked the price 6 days before Christmas for $119.00.. So if you wait till about 5 days after Christmas you can pick them up for about 60 bucks on Ebay all through Jan.

We have the older three lane version of this. Money well spent. It's one of my daughter's favorite toys. In fact, every child that comes to our house has enjoyed it. I've had many people ask me where I got it. I tried to buy one for a family member and was shocked to discover that they were hard to find and so expensive.

I'm trying to get this for my 3 year old son. The cheapest price I've seen is 295$. That's insane. It also looks like it's discontinued. If anyone knows a place or if it's a possibility they could come back out please post. Thanks
