I've owned the lp's since 2012. Are these worth the upgrade? I guess the biggest concern is on the ear vs lp over the ear comfort.
I have xl cushions on my lp and those even get uncomfortable after a while. Any advice would be appreciated.

Agreed. I am usually wary "designer" headphones. But this is the rare occasion where they did not sacrifice sound for looks. And everything form the packaging to the build quality is top notch. I had these and the Momentum on-ear, and these beat it (Momentum lacking in the lower mids).
One warning, all the reviews about needing a small head are true, I don't and they really clamped down. I and to spend quite a bit of time stretching them out.

I'm curious if these are worth the upgrade from LPs too. I like the bass of the LPs and I've ready the M-80s are less bass focused.

I've had the LPs and the M80s and much prefer the M80s. I like heavy bass, but the LPs were too muddy sounding to me. I'm FAR from an audiophile, but I liked the overall sound of the M80s a lot more. Depending on the music I'll sometimes boost the bass in EQ. Being on-ear they are quite a bit smaller, which is neither good nor bad, just a difference. I have a largish head and the M80s are comfortable, but I never wear them more than a couple hours at a time.

yeah so I'm not going to pretend I'm audio savvy like pluch is, but I would skip these if you plan on wearing then for a couple hours at a time. every time I put them on I feel like something is crushing my head after a couple dozen minutes. becomes unenjoyable.
