Costumes, fireworks, sounds like fun!!


Fettucine aglio e olio for dinner tonight, with sauteed carrots, sugar snap peas, and sliced mushrooms. I insisted on half melted butter, half EVOO for the "olio" portion, also some fresh-ground black pepper and a few crushed red pepper flakes in the toss with the garlic and pasta.

My dad's birthday was on Friday, so my parents rented a cabin in the Blue Ridge mountains, and invited me and my lady friend up to hang out with them and enjoy the escape from the city. Sunday, the gf and I went whitewater rafting! I had never been before, but we had been watching the groups do it off of the Ocoee, and decided we needed to before we left. It was a blast!
