People need to stop putting exclusions in the OP... put them in the wiki. All of these keep setting off my deal alerts, and everytime it's because of the exclusions.

Or you could just close the deal page and move on if it doesn't work for you..

Thanks, OP! Always like to get alerted when these JCP codes come around!

I don't care if he's a hypocrite, it didn't give an excuse to ignore a legitimate idea.

I'm not ignoring a legitimate idea. You can reply directly to TDMVP73 in the first post of the thread with the suggestion, or encourage ngsm13 to. That's the method I use when I see an error, something missing, or a suggestion for the OP

But he had a point, and yet you make a personal attack on him? And how different would your response be if you couldnt locate an obvious fault?

Wasn't the original comment a little rude, and just complaining? "People need to stop putting exclusions in the OP... put them in the wiki. All of these keep setting off my deal alerts, and every time it's because of the exclusions" What about using a better approach, like letting the OP know with a direct reply if you think it's important to keep exclusions out of the thread details. As I said previously if you think ngsm13 had a good idea, you should share it with the OP TDMVP73. Why tell me how good of a idea it is, let TDMVP73 know for future posts. Start a topic in the podium and I'll be glad to continue the conversation.

Yes, it was kind of rude IMO.

Also, ngsm13 immediately thumbed me down because of it as well. While I can understand his frustrations with deal alerts being set off inadvertently, I think most people would rather have the exclusions in the OP than the Wiki. A lot of people barely read the OP, much nonetheless the Wiki.

I don't complain about every false alert I receive for FAR Deals every time someone posts a deal for "FAR Cry 3" for the PC. I simply close out the pop-up notification, delete the e-mail and move on.

Also, there are ways to configure your Deal Alerts so that false alerts don't happen as often. In this case, there are probably 5 brand names in the exclusions which may set off alerts: Levi's, Nike, Sephora, Clarks, and/or Columbia.

For suggestions on precise Deal Alert Configurations, see this: LINK

In this case, I think this would be a better way to configure the Deal Alert:

Nike @title -JCPenney
Will trigger an alert if 'Nike' is in the title or body of the post and 'JCPenney' is not in the title. ('JCPenney' can still be in the body.)

This would make it so that you would still get Nike Alerts, but not ones for JCPenney Coupons ones that have exclusions listed (if I understand it correctly).

Anyways, thanks for the support and glad you can make use of the coupon! Smilie
