Commonly asked Publix Coupon Policy Questions

Does Publix accept competitors coupons?

Per corporate...Publix does accept LOCAL competitors coupons.... however it is up to the stores managers discretion if they choose to accept interet printables or "Supercenter" store coupons. The store manager also has the right to limit or reject competitor coupons as they deem appropriate. Corporate suggested calling the specific local store and verifying their store managers policy BEFORE attempting to use a competitors coupons. In other words BIG YMMV! But very do-able woot

Also keep in mind a great place to find competitors coupons is in the Entertainment Book.

Publix Coupon Item Policy

Publix will typically accept one Publix Coupon and One Manufacturer coupon per each item.

Last year I've literally had change handed back to me - TWICE ! (ie. make money!)

I'm not bold enough to try that ever again with their keen attack on overage and coupons in general now.

But a cashier told me this week she was instructed "if it scans, take it", so that's hopeful.
I was wondering because I have several RR's I want to use and a 5 off $25 family dollar from last weeks paper they let me use once before and maybe my $2 CVS Q I got when I logged into CVS online.

I may be close to 0. I would think it would feel weird going out the door not paying anything.

I've only been couponing for about 3 months now so I'm still learning.

But I love it I'm saving so much money its not funny.

I routinely go out the door paying less than $1, there's no shame.
(I keep an assortment of various RR sizes at the ready because you can only use one).

RR's actually scan and they are definitely real manu. coupons (I've become a believer Wink ) so I am always willing to argue for them now.

Note that if you buy anything taxable, you aren't going to be able to go below tax with RR unless your state takes off sales tax with Qs (you'll get a beep otherwise).

The only suggestion I would give is it pays NOT not buy a lot at once.
If you can break up shopping trips to $25 or less, you will save more money - unless you are a super-dooper shopper and have Q's out the wazoo.

Hopefully this Monday, but I'd probably guess the Monday next since the publix coupon for $1/2 expires 2/13

I stopped at a Publix today across the street from where I get my nails done. I rarely do my shopping there. I had time to kill before my nail appointment so I stopped to pick up a few things. As I was shopping I noticed by the cheese area, there was a $1.00 tearpad for some Ques-Melt Cheese Dip. The tearpad coupon specifically stated $1.00 off ANY size. The cheese was $1.99 so it would be .99 with the coupon - I decided to try it. At checkout, the cashier told me I was unable to use the coupon as I did not buy the correct size. I explained that the coupon clearly stated "any size". She said "I see that but what they meant was that you had to buy the bigger one for $5.99 it was not meant for the $1.99 one". I took my coupon back from her and figured I would stop at CS on my way out - I had time to kill today.

So I pay for my stuff and head over to CS. As I am waiting (there are 4 people ahead on me in line) I notice a poster hanging on the front of the CS counter. It describes a Publix Phone Survey that began on February 1, 2010. The poster is 11 x 18 and completely filled with the rules and regulations of this survey. This is what I remember:

Call 1-800-495-4193 to take the survey. You must call from a local home phone number. No cell phones or work phones. 1 call per household. You have a chance to win a Publix Gift Card (I think it was either $50 or $100). The survey takes 12 minutes to complete. You need your 4 digit store number (Mine is located at the bottom of the receipt - Date - Time - then Store Number - Example S049 so you would enter 0469) That's it. I thought if you are bored you may want to enter the survey and see if you can win a Publix Giftcard. I took the survey and it is about 30 questions regarding employees (payback for the rude service regarding my coupon) product availability, cleanliness, store appearance, etc.

. . . and yes I did get my $1.00 back!!!

Saturday date-night-with-hubby run... And no, we didn't go anywhere else but Publix. Shocking Big Grin

Looked at John Frieda Root Awakening (30% off w/ $5/2 SS IP). Shampoo/conditioners reg. prices were $5.99. Cheapest item was $4.99 (detangler), but one item not labeled (lotion). Detangler would be .99 after Q. Anyone know how their lotion's price compares to these?

Fell over when I saw the price of the new Dove Men's line of bar soap: $7.59 for 6 bars. There's an MQ and PQ for this (6 bars), but that's still crazy expensive. Body wash was $4.99. Will be great if there's an upcoming BOGO (less $1.50 PQ and $1.25 MQ). Trying to convince DH to give up the bars!

Are there no other MMs out there except Knox now?

DH is thrilled that he'll have sweetener for 6 mos. since our PureVia is also $1.99 ($2/1 MQ 1/3 SS). I told him to wait 'til he used it to be sure!

Total before Qs: 117.46. OOP: 14.78. "Your Savings at Publix": 152.00 I used 14 (count 'em) $5 Aviva RRs. The look on the CS rep's face when I told her not to ring up the RRs as competitor's, but to scan them instead? Priceless. She was thrilled to find that out. The magic words to say at your store: "They scan."

After I checked out, the same CS rep gave me $11.90 back on Qs I had for prior receipts - no problems.

Only negative today was that NO Miami Heralds in my city had any Smartsource in them today. Had to pick up extra El Sentinels instead.

Go Colts! Groupwave

I didn't get the Smart Source insert with my Orlando Sentinel, even had it redelivered and it wasn't in there again. Went to WAGS and bought more OS and NO Smart Source either! Did any others get it with their OS? I am hoping they haven't pulled out like they did in Tampa.

The Florida Today had NO P&G insert either. ARGH!

Wow, none of my publix will allow me to use more than 1 RR.
You either found someone who didn't know or your region has different rules.

I always inspect my newspapers before buying... sometimes the flyers are hidden in other sections, my P&G was in the sports section for some reason.

Advantage Flyers are listed in the wiki, and we are blessed by daydr3am to have scans of the ads as well. Here's the current flyer as posted by daydr3am and we add all the Publix Qs into the wiki.

Good find on the extra Q to matchup to that sale.

I wish we had a volunteer to do matchups on the entire Advantage Flyer consistently (sunshinesmom did the last typing up of the ad, but no matchups were done on the ad itself), as items like this (and the Dixie plates that harporrt mentioned from the previous yellow advantage flyer) would come to light sooner.
