I noticed in my current month's bill, that Verizon is increasing the administrative fee for all voice lines from $0.88 to $0.95. This would constitute as a material change, since this fee is part of Verizon surcharges ( not taxes). Call Verizon to get out of your contract.. Obviously YMMV!!! Good luck!!

Looks like they have also modified the contract!!

Below is the excerpt from my bill,

Notice Of Administrative Charge Increase
Effective January 1, 2015, the monthly Verizon Wireless Administrative
Charge for voice capable devices will increase from $0.88 to $0.95 per
line for all eligible customers. The charge for data only devices remains at
$.06. For information regarding this charge, call 1-888-684-1888.
Please consult your Customer Agreement for information about rate
changes.

Please do update the wiki below with your results. Thanks !!

UPDATE: Successfully got out of contract without ETF for 2 individual lines. Called once. Chatted twice. Second time chat did the trick.

The term "administrative fee" is laughable and another junk fee Verizon tacks on. They get away with it only because people will pay it.

$0.07 increase is a "material change"?

I am skeptical if this will work.

This is what Verizon charges Also they have changed the contract... and hence a material change.

Excerpt from the bill:
Verizon Wireless' Surcharges Verizon Wireless' Surcharges include (i) a Regulatory Charge (which helps defray various government charges we pay including government number administration and license fees); (ii) a Federal Universal Service Charge (and, if applicable, a State Universal Service Charge) to recover charges imposed on us by the government to support universal service; and (iii) an Administrative Charge, which helps defray certain expenses we incur, including: charges we, or our agents, pay local telephone companies for delivering calls from our customers to their customers; fees and assessments on our network facilities and services; property taxes; and the costs we incur responding to regulatory obligations. Please note that these are Verizon Wireless charges, not taxes. These charges, and what's included, are subject to change from time to time.

You must be new here. These things happen all the time. If they don't work you are doing it wrong. This is where LegalShield is worth its weight in gold.

What's the point? Tmobile/Sprint already pay ETFs for you to switch anyways.

From Verizon's Agreement:

If you're a Postpay customer and a change to your Plan or this agreement has a material adverse effect on you, you can cancel the line of Service that has been affected within 60 days of receiving the notice with no early termination fee if we fail to negate the change after you notify us of your objection to it.

Sounds like best case scenario they will just give you the $.07 for the remain months in your contract.

Seriously how do you expect to call in with a straight face and ask them to get you out of contract for a 7 cent /line increase? I have two lines on an edge plan paying $35/line/mo. Would be nice if I can get that waived Smilie
