Samsung specs list LTE band 13 and CDMA... i.e., this looks like a modified Verizon variant.

During Black Friday sale I wanted to get this phone for this price so did some research on unlocking, supported frquencies etc, and below is what I have found.
Anybody have better information to share please do so.

Samsung support page for Samsung SM-S975L TracFone/ StraightTalk:

Unlock Samsung SM-S975L TracFone/ StraightTalk: Looks like lot of people tried unlocking to use with other GSM networks but not succeeded.

Keep in mind that ST have no customer service whatsoever. It took forever for me to port out my number so I had to pick a new number.vomit

A lot of SDers were unable to unlock the phone when it was the same price during Black Friday.

I just called T-Mobile. They say it will work with T-Mobile, but there's no guarantee if 4G will work. They say each carrier has a list of networks that they can look up to see if 4G will be guaranteed to work.
So can anyone vouch for if this is guaranteed 4G? I know you can always return it or whatever, but I'd like to just avoid that mess if 4G is a no-go.

This is not a deal for me. My max limit is $100 for a phone and the choices are plenty. Ranging from an S3 on BF from Best Buy for $80 to a couple of the nicer T-Mobile phones, you do not have to break the bank to get a nice cell phone, you just have to keep your eyes open.

The reasons for the $100 limit: phones break easily, I do not game or use it for Netflix so I don't need an awesome screen or large amount of RAM, I like trying out new phones so $100 won't break the bank but $250+$250+$250 will...

I feel like you are missing the point. Your post isn't clear unless you indicate which Cell Phone Provider you are using.

It's a GSM phone, so it will work with AT&T as well as T-mobile. The question is what frequencies it would support for data. So I'm hoping someone has more info on that part.

I was going to buy this for my brother back around the BF sale. Was told it would work with AT&T too, yet something about phone updates would not work. It was suggested I buy an AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4. So I bought him a cheap LG instead Stick Out Tongue Lol

That's the point. With a $100 cell phone purchase limit, I am free to stay with one cell phone provider one month or move to a different one the next if one has a better deal. Lots of places have new customer specials so I just hop on to the best specials.
