Logisys power supplies have a history of dying and even smoking and sparking.

That can't produce their claimed wattage. Pro review sites have shown this.

Is this worth it or should I wait and see what else comes up? I don't need everything there, such as the RAM (I also don't want to risk it with an unknown psu)

discounting the case and ps this is an "ok" deal. in your case you'd be wise to wait.

This looks like a good deal for $300. If the OP wants some TU's then post some links providing a review of the components and comparisons, technical specifications, response times, warranties, etc. I really can use the mATX mobo, the 480 PSU, the SSD, and possibly the APU. I currently have a 6-core that I'm not 100% sure if it is still usable and this may be a fair replacement.

I think the LOGISYS Computer Case w/ 480W PSU usually sells for like $20 to $25 AR when it's on sale by itself.
The 120 GB Patriot Blaze SSD is worth $40ish dollars, as is the 1 TB WD Blue 7200 RPM HDD.
The 8 GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 240-Pin DDR3 DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory is worth about $60.00.

So that leaves a remaining balance of $125 for the PSU and Mobo.

Processor [amazon.com] is $90 on Amazon
Asus Mobo [newegg.com] is $35 AR at Newegg.

So basically, I don't see much of a savings here. Maybe S&H Costs + $10 to $20 off typical sale prices?

Does anyone know anything about the performance of the 120 GB Patriot Blaze SSD?

Aren't we feeling entitled today. You can just Google as fast as OP to find reviews for yourself of the components.

Yeah, but the difference is - can you buy all the items separately at those prices TODAY? (Or are you comparing across deals offered last BF through today - using various rebates across various vendors, cash back, registering for coupons, etc...)

It looks decent to me. I'm on the fence - could use a second computer at home.

just an FYI that logisys power supply is total junk. Those things cables weigh more than the PSU its self.
