This was $200 a month ago. It seems they're in a hurry to get rid of it.

The amount of misinformation that people post is astounding...

Carriers this phone will work on:

Verizon Prepaid: Duh

Verizon Postpaid: Just swap an existing activated SIM into the phone and you're good to go. If you need a different SIM card size, do yourself a favor and cut your SIM or get an adapter...Don't go to a Verizon store and expect them to swap this phone onto your account.

Sprint/Boost/Virgin: Not a chance. The phone uses the same technology, bands, etc.. but Sprint does not allow BYOD. They just don't....so stop asking.

Page Plus: If you want to risk getting your account canceled, then go for it. PagePlus is not allowed to use Verizon prepaid phones unless they've been activated for 6 months, and if they sweep the ESN and catch it they will cancel your account.

T-Mo/AT&T/GSM etc: This phone is "ready" for GSM use, but you need to unlock the global mode for use in the US. I followed this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96eTID-E4Ks

Note: You will NOT get LTE on AT&T or T-Mobile, and in fact most likely won't get 3G on T-Mo. I had my Verizon Luge unlocked and running on AT&T with HSPA+ 4G speeds

Has a micro SIM...

why wasn't this already in the wiki...

LTE prepaid devices from Verizon can be used on Page Plus, but Page Plus LTE does not support their $12 plan or pay as you go plans. Only monthly plans above $12 (29.99 and up) will work. This is because of the C-Block mandate that prevents Verizon from restricting the use of their LTE devices. So yes, you can use this phone with Page Plus.

Hard Reset: for those who screwed up their phone, from Verizon.

1. Ensure the device is powered off. If hanged on boot up,
press & hold Power, Volume Up & Down buttons to shut off.
2. Press and hold the Volume Up & Down buttons and press and hold the Power button.
3. Press Volume Down to Recovery then press Volume Up.
4.. From the Android system recovery screen (exclamation point with an android figure), press and hold the Volume Up button then press and release the Power button.
5.Select wipe data/factory reset.
Note Utilize the Volume buttons to highlight and the Power button to select.
6.Select Yes -- delete all user data.
Note Allow several seconds for the factory data reset process to complete.
7.Select reboot system now.
Note Allow several minutes for the reboot process to complete.

Root, confirmed working.
good luck !!!

okay, I'm a total idiot---- but how does a no-contract smartphone work?

Is this just a cheap replacement phone for people who already have a Verizon contract?

Or does verizon somehow sell monthly phone cards / monthly pay-as-you go plans???

Prepaid phone is lock from using Verizon contract plan. I think after 6 months on prepaid then you can use the phone on your contract plan.

Some people mentioned in the previous thread that this prepaid phone (and other 4g prepaid phones) dont need to be active for 6 month before activating on post-paid.
I hope some one shares their real experience.

Here's the link to the previous thread.

Also in for more information on using this phone on a postpaid account.

I was going to pick up the Moto G (which may not even activate) but this phone has it beat.
