This Mario Amiibo is different than the current retail version; might be a limited edition (or special edition), Usually the Amiibo is around $8-$9 on sale.

So it just has the mario amiibo inside of it? So in essence there is NOTHING special about this. If the amiibo was one of a kind it would sort of make sense but since its just a regular mario amiibo.... rip off!

According to amazon the shipping weight is 355 pounds. I was wrong, this Mario is made out of solid metal! OMG

not limited, you can get each seperately. this just bundles the two for slightly less.

The current Mario amiibo is a Super Smash Bros version. This Mario is the Super Mario World iteration which will be launching with several other amiibo's. While not limited edition it is still cheaper than buying the two separately at launch.

He is right about the mario amiibo being different. I just checked and the mario amiibo that is out now has fire in his hands. This one does look different. It is still a mario amiibo but it just looks a little different. Not a big deal and doesn't really warrant it a "limited edition" status, but there is a difference.

At launch an amiibo is $12.99 RRP so you'd be getting this Mario amiibo for $10. $2.99 cheaper than if you bought them separately at launch. How exactly is that a rip off? It's not the sale of the century, but still...

it's the new wave, Luigi and others will get the same treatment. it was on Nintendo's video when the new 3ds xl were announced.
