Sling TV invites start rolling out tonight -- 1 week Free trial included [aftvnews.com]

Sling TV, a $20 a month streaming-only cable television subscription service coming to the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, will begin sending out their first batch of sign-up invitations tonight at 9 p.m. PT. Invitations will come with a 1 week free trial offer. If all goes well, the service will fully launch to everyone in about 2 weeks. Sling is also promising to offer device bundle packages that will be announced soon. No word if these bundles will just be extended trial periods, like the 30 day free trial announced for Xbox One owners, or if they will include service discounts.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Which Devices support Sling TV?

At launch you will be able to stream Sling TV using

o Android Tablet and Phone
o iOS Devices - iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
o PC and Mac
o Roku boxes and Streaming Stick
o Amazon Fire TV and Stick
o Roku TV models

Will your content broadcast in HD?

Sling TV will provide a high-quality television experience inside and outside of the home, anywhere a wired; Wi-Fi or mobile broadband connection is available. The service will be delivered over an IP-based content delivery system that leverages adaptive bitrate streaming technology. This allows for the highest quality streaming experience possible regardless of network quality fluctuations or location, making it virtually indistinguishable from the quality you would find on a traditional pay-tv provider's HD experience.

Can I watch Sling TV on multiple devices at the same time?

Sling TV is a single-stream service. However you can stream Sling International on up to three devices simultaneously.

Does Sling TV have Replay option available?

On few channels (like HGTV, DIY, Food Network) the service includes a 3-Day Replay feature that allows customers to watch shows that have aired in the past three days; no DVR is needed.

We dropped cable years ago and I kind of got out of the habit of watching live sports (two kids can monopolize your time). Don't know if I could go back to watching all those commercials, it's pretty painful when I am visiting my parents or in-laws.

Those channels probably cost the cable companies $10-13. So, decent deal for $20.

$20 is too much for the channels being offered. Would probably subscribe at $10, would definitely subscribe at $5.

Not going to happen. They would be selling it at a loss then. ESPN alone costs them over $6 per sub.

For $20, I'd hope for the full complement of ESPN channels.

Dropping cable only works for people who aren't sports fans.

This plan fills a big gap (ESPN and TNT) for cord cutters. Local HD covers a lot of sports as well.
