It's lifetime premier service for Silicondust's 'Simple.TV' ATSC TV Tuner, as the description leads on Wink

If you don't have the tuner, you won't be interested - if you do, this is worth $150 for an existing account, and maybe $350 if you're looking to buy a Simple.TV 2...

This is Silicondust's new EPG/Tivo like 'service' they usually charge a monthly/yearly/lifetime fee for, and has been hinted at may be the model for the HDHomerun 6 tuner model coming out whenever they feel like it, so it may be worth snagging for anyone planning on getting it! Wink

That's the point, Jr. - most people who purchased the Simple.TV have been regretting (see: rue [merriam-webster.com]) the purchase since day one...

The people who purchase the 6 tuner replacement to the Prime may just want to do this now, and NOT have to rue the day once they find out later that they're going to shell out for the 'service' at that time!

Now, Rue The Day! hugvomit

In either case, if you are ACTUALLY in the market for a Silicondust product, this is a hell of a deal - even if it's a way off, they've moved to a subscription based service model, instead of just producing SOLID hardware that actually works - we all fear that reign is over Frown

The 6 tuner will... but this isn't a post about the hardware, it's for the subscription you'll be forced to buy then when/if you buy the new hardware Wink

No. Please read the post as this is clearly explained.

The box is on sale for $100 at Woot. This thread is about getting the $150 lifetime service for free by following the directions.

What timing. I just signed up yesterday to receive daily Woot emails just to get this deal after it ran at the end of December. My first email this morning and the deal is back on! Woot!

What a great price, if the lifetime subscription transfers to better equipment in the future....? That is just a bonus. Thanks to this forum for leading me to this deal.

Seriously? Literally the very first sentence in the very first post answers this question.
