Online [redbox.com], in the Redbox mobile app, or at the kiosk. (Thanks to JohnCalo for confirming it works at the kiosk.)

Rentals/card/day - 5 rentals on a card that has been used @ Redbox before. Otherwise it's limited to 3 the first time


NOTE:
  1. Remember to return the rentals before 2/3 9pm your local time no matter when you pick them up
  2. Multiple rentals have to be made in individual transactions i.e. 5 discs require 5 transactions..

I got this in an email from redbox today, says follow us on Instagram for a free movie night.
I already follow, so not sure if it will work for those of us who do already....

I don't even have an Instagram account (my DW spotted the code on there this morning) but I was able to use the code a few times without issue, Historically, the Instagram codes behave the same as any other universal multi-use code from what I remember.

Sucks for me that yesterday I booked a few movies in the wrong kiosk thats 25 mins away and now I can't rebook those same movies today until the hold expires tonight.

Sometimes I wish redbox had a cancel button.

Last Universal Generic code before yesterday, I reserved 5 movies on my CC but didn't pick them up. I had a Playpass credit that expired that night so I waited & waited & waited for the system to mark them returned. Wouldn't allow me to use my playpass credit because it considered me to still have the max of 5 rentals out on that CC.

I couldn't use at all because it was the last day & the system didn't update the auto-return until about 1:30 AM ... (No extra charges as always) but that was the longest I have ever seen the system go. It used to be between 9PM-9:30PM. I actually wanted to re-rent 1 or 2 to watch the next day and I couldn't until it freed them up in the system & marked them available again; by then it was too late. A I can't pick it up button return them early button would be nice from home for sure.

That sucks, I'm in half a mind to go and just pick up and return at the kiosk, if today's code works at the kiosk then I'll probably re-rent.
