How this compare to last week's deal: "Tackform Magnetic CD Mount" (it was for $5.99 shipped)? I'm still waiting for it though.

Ha brilliant! Never seen these types of mounts but it makes complete sense considering CDs have gone the way of the dodo for most people

won't this damage the CD player?

I have the Mountek Snap 3 that uses a magnet (and plate attached to your phone case) to hold the phone in place. I love it because it is fast to slap the phone into place and grab it when I leave the car.

Does anyone have any experience with this mount and how long it takes to get the phone in and out?

Allegedly the "fingers" don't go in far enough to trigger the CD mechanism or hinder playing.

Have not had issues with the one I use.

Bought this one several weeks ago for the same price. There weren't many reviews, but I took a chance anyway. So far so good. I have a 2012 Mazada 6 and the plastic around the CD slot is beveled. At first it fit snug, but would come loose after a few uses. Then, I decided to read the instructions and discovered the spacers included in the box which snap on to the attaching mechanism to increase is thickness. Now it's in there tight and holds very well. Definitely worth $9.

Only downsides are if you have a thick phone or case, it might not well with it on. I've got a TPU case on my HTC M7 and it fits perfectly. Also, I'm not sure how well the tightness on the ball socket will hold up as the tightness can't be adjusted. This might also prevent very heavy devices being used with it.
