Microsoft Windows Store $25 Credit is not applicable for this Stream device
Not True. I can confirm that I got the $25 credit using this device ( HP Stream 7). Just followed this. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/HPStream/

These HP Stream devices qualify for the gift card offer. You must redeem the offer from your HP Stream to validate the offer.
HP Stream 13 Laptop
HP Stream 11 Laptop
HP Stream 11 x360
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/hpstream/Home/Faq
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/HPStream/

There is no code to "pay forward". $25 off $75 expired last week. STOP BEGGING

The $25 credit you receive with the purchase of the tablet is for the app store and cannot be used to buy the tablet, and, "payforward" for such reason.

There is a 5% off coupon if you text MSSTORE to 29502 found in a previous deal. (You can use your google voice number to do this as well.)

If you have purchased a 7 inch Windows tablet like the HP Stream 7 or Toshiba Encore Mini, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore says you'll be able to upgrade to Windows 10 while retaining the ability to run desktop apps.

If you buy this tablet, use IE in tablet mode for your web browser. Do not try to use Chrome or Firefox or you will be frustrated - they run like crap on these tablets, while IE runs like butter.

--------------------------------

To get your office product key, go to the activation screen and click to activate. A link will open in IE looking something like this:

Quote :
login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=11&ct=1425231033&rver=6.1.6166.0&wp=MBI_SSL&wreply= https:%2F%2Fofficesetup.getmicrosoftkey.co m%2FSecured%2FLiv eAuth%3Fvalue%3DKD0XJ-JSD80-SL0ZJ-SAL9B-ZL38A%26source%3DO3BE&lc=1033&cb=cb %3Doffice15&loref=https:%2F%2Fofficesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com%2FHome%2F32DSig nOut&id=2352&wfresh=0&cbcxt=office15
The part in bold is your product key.

You can actually go to: officesetup.getmicrosoftkey.com and enter your code to check it.

Enter your code and click "Get Started". If you get an error message, the code is incorrect. If it takes you to a login page (or a "select your country" page), the code is correct.

----------------------

Just thought that the universal headphone buzz issue with this tablet should be mentioned to people who are considering buying it.

Grabbed one of these for myself back when they were $75 in December. I ended up grabbing 7 more to hand out as XMas gifts to a few customers. Its a great "couch" device. When the wife and I are on the couch and want to check something, it's right there. Also very handy for streaming WatchESPN during the House Hunters binges that seem to occur weekly . My daily driver/workhorse tab is still my Nexus 9 and the wife uses her Fire HDX, but this is a great little common tab to have around. I've recently installed the Windows 10 preview on it and it handles it perfectly.
Oh, and the comparison of the battery life to an iPad or Galaxy Tab? Really? What exactly is the point of comparing anything about this to a device that costs 4 - 5 times as much??

HP tablets have horrible in battery life compared to ipad and even samsung lablets. Recently got a HP stream 8 tablet and every time I tried to use the tablet it showed "no charge" (while my ipad/ galaxy tablets still holds the charge above 50% level). HP must improve the battery life of their tablets (should be atleast comparable to Galaxy tabs) considering that it is a portable device and nobody would like to keep the charger in bag all the time.

Is Windows 10 slow on this, and does Cortana work?

Don't forget about the $15 off $50 coupon code that you may receive in the mail (or text) some time ago. Some of these are expired but some are still good.

Yep, mine is still good. Been looking for something good to use it with. This qualifies, but I don't really have a use for this. Decisions..

Surprised at how good this runs considering it is the FULL OS. Don't expect it to replace your PC and you'll be happy, especially at this price point.

If this is the same one that HP was selling last BF for $50, I picked on up at that time. I think that its good for the price. Do agree that battery life is short. My other complaint is that the power cord port does not hold the power cord in place very well. Useful as a reference device sitting on a coffee table in my TV room.

I bought one of the $60 Micro Center WinBook 7" Win 8.1 tablets. They come with micro HDMI out and a full size USB port. I am in IT and we were in the hospital for three days for the birth of our child. I brought the tablet and hooked it up to the TV and brought my wireless keyboard with track pad. I end up having to do some remote support and it worked great. Also used it to stream Netflix.

I picked up one of these in December also.

Amazon has a nice magnetic slim shell case for it. Black is currently $8.99

There is a 5% off coupon if you text MSSTORE to 29502 found in a previous deal. Just tried and it gave me a code.

Helps cover tax if nothing else.
